Once again...too much credit being given to Mason. Seen them play a couple of times this year......very unimpressive.

Ok if we played BC's scheldule we would also be 13-0 with all running clocks.......If BC played Belfrys schedule 2-3 losses....IMO.....Both gotta play ball I just don't see BC controlling the LOS....but I will know more shortly cause I am about to look at the film and give my opinion...and it will be an honest one....

Bourbon has gone against some size this year in the trenches and did well being a smaller team. They have been able to create holes for the backs and the backs hit it with a full head of steam. IMO Holman for Bourbon is better than Hopkins was, the difference this year is Bourbon has and uses more weapons than they did last year. This will be an exciting game. I agree, the defense is still suspect at times and hasn't seen an offense like Belfry's.

If there's any mystery left to this Belfry/Bourbon game...it's definitely surrounding how Bourbon's defense will play/contain a very strong offensive team like Belfry. BoCo's defense hasnt been challenged all year. That's not taking anything away from them....the teams they've played...they've dominated. However....they've neither been challenged nor pushed by any opponent. If they manhandle the Pirates...then more power to them....
IMO, that's the biggest unknown going into the game.

Ask me again one week from today.
Please get off the Bourbon has blown everyone they've played away garbage. Everyone knows their schedule is horrid. That doesn't mean I don't think they deserve to be here because they most definitely do, but referencing their schedule as means to point out the greatness of Bourbon Co. football doesn't mean a hill of beans to anyone who knows football.

Ok now thats better. Thats your opinion not a guarantee, I can respect that.

As one poster already said, up the middle i believe will be the deciding factor on how well Belfry runs the ball. No disrespect to Carr but Hatfield is the best bet at fullback. Carr is a beast dont get me wrong, but Hatfield has been dominant at Fullback all year when healthy. He has yet to be stopped. Low center of gravity, thats the difference. Carr IMO is to tall. If they can draw them in with the fullback dives and then Johnson and Dari will have the outside and maybe even the pass over the middle will be there.

Re-read my post bub, it was a question not a statement. If Bourbon has not been tested, then you can't say they are worse than teams Belfry has played. All they have done is take care of business, they haven't done anything to suggest they are worse than Belfry.

Nor does their schedule suggest that they are better than any of the teams I mentioned in my prior post.
So you want to know why I said "guarantee"? Again, ask me that question one week from today. If I'm wrong I'll gladly admit to it and pay my respects to Bourbon Co. and their fans, particularly you. If the game goes the way I think it will I'll expect the same from you. hh:

Does that mean you are expecting a blowout? Either way Belfry has my respect win or lose. To me, any team in the final 4 has done well, all you can do is play your schedule.

As a BC fan, and a person who knows football, I can promise you this is not the same Bourbon team you saw last year. I thought a young Bourbon team played well against a very experienced Belfry team last season, and if you think your team is as your team last year, this will be a dog fight.
11-23-2013, 04:30 PM
This should be a really good game. Bourbon is not the team they were last year, they're better. I'm gonna go with Bourbon due to home field advantage but it would not surprise me one bit to see Belfry win.
I will say that who wins this game will be the new 3A Champ....
Good luck to both teams.

I think a big difference between this years Bourbon and last years team, is the defense. I believe other then a couple of the secondary and Holman, they all go one way, makes a big difference with teams like Belfry.
11-23-2013, 05:35 PM
From what I just saw, Belfry will own the LOS...BC has some very good athletes but we match up equally...Mason ran the ball very well against them...And Belfry will be the Best team offensively and Defensively Bourbon co has faced...Mason was out coached...I seen a lot of calls at the line when mason loaded one side resulting in long TD runs...Belfry plays straight up and pops you in the mouth...But we have to tackle, if we don't wrap up it will kill US.....Belfry is my team and I just think they are better and play tougher...BC relies on speed I just don't see no big hitters...I could be wrong but IMO I am not...Belfry wins this game by playing our traditional SMASH MOUTH football and I just don't think Bourbons Defense can stop our offense...But again BC is at home and pumped to play and anything can happen...But Belfry rolls onto BG...love my pirates

I was at the game last night and can honestly say I was surprised at how physical Bourbon is. They had a couple breakdowns defensively, but were playing without a starter at OLB. Not sure what the issue was or if he will be back next week, but I think that Holman and Mitchell are monsters inside that play with high motors. I think this game could go either way, but I like Bourbon in this one after seeing them again last night. I think its a close one that could be a bit of a shootout.
Colonels - 41
Pirates - 35
Best of luck to both sides the rest of the way

No, not expecting a blowout at all. But I do think we have an advantage if it's a turnover free game.
I realize turnovers are part of the game in just about every team sport, but I don't think people realize how much that part of the game effects the Pirates. When clicking on all cylinders and protecting the ball this offense is fun to watch and explosive. When they put the ball on the ground they're painful to watch.
Opinions vary, and everyone has a right to their own, but I feel like if both Belfry and Bourbon play turnover free ball Belfry's D is more likely to slow Bourbon down than Bourbon is to stop the Pirates.
Just my .02 cents.

Can't wait till Friday night. Going to have to make the trip from wilmore for this one

I'll just say that if Belfry thinks they will come to Paris and steamroll Bourbon County, good luck!
11-23-2013, 07:17 PM
Home field doesn't even play into it. Belfry brings all their fans anyway so when the Pirate look around there everyone is. Just like being at home. Pirates by 2tds

I don't think anyone is predicting Belfry to steamroll BC. These two teams have played their respective schedules cause they had too and now they are in the state semis. Yes the SOS is a good debate on here and pretty good one. But any given Friday anything can happen. If belfry hangs on to the ball and plays defense like they have been playing they can and will win.

Sounds like home field advantage doesn't even matter... Sounds like Bourbon is over hyped, over ranked, can't coach. Think Belfry will find Adena Springs field not to their liking. Cam was not to Bourbons liking last season. I don't have a dog in this fight, but I have seen both play this season , & I like the Colonels at home

Anything can happen in the play offs, and that's one thing that makes this time of year so exciting in football!! I admit I don't know a lot about Bourbon County, but I've been looking at stats, schedules and a little vid on U-Tube!! LOL...great for a scouting report, huh!
Belfry has an intrinsic factor that I can't even begin to describe. There's a saying in the mountains...Belfry is Belfy.
Home field may mean something to Bourbon County, familiar surroundings, fan base, etc. but it won't mean squat to Belfry.
I may be proven wrong, but I doubt it; Belfry rolls in this one, too. I see the Pondy Pirates walking out of Bourbon County, on their way to the big dance.
Belfry by 14!!!

Can you read or are you just that ignorant...I knew I couldn't be nice on here for to long without converting to my old ways.....I said anything could happen, I said we would have to tackle...I said playing at BC would be difficult and they want revenge...but IMO ( that's short for In My Opinion) we are more physical and will control the LOS (that's short for Line Of Scrimmage)....I explained these football terms to you because you obviously don't know $hit about football if you think Bourbon and Johnson central would be a shootout.....lol...you ain't no football junky, you sound more like a crackhead...irateShoirateSho
