Android, Apple, or Windows?

Which mobile phone OS do you prefer? If you pick Android, which company do you prefer, Samsung, HTC, Motorola, LG, etc?

I myself am an Android guy. I respect Apple and iOS, but don't prefer it to Android.

Its enough that my wife text's me non stop and i hate talking on the phone.

Guess you can say I'm a apple fan! I've played with the windows and didn't like it at all.
Not really done much with android say I can't say anything bad about it.

I prefer Android. I had an IPhone and thought I would never want a different phone again until I got the Note II and haven't looked back.

I have one of the Microsoft Surface tablets and it's honestly on par with any other tablet on the market.

It is more of the "portable computer" of the three major mobile operating systems.

The surface is on my Christmas list. Does it run like a regular laptop or do you need to purchase a service plan for it?

I would prefer the new Blackberry OS, but it looks like Blackberry is spiraling toward extinction. I am sure that iOS is a nice system, but I like the fact that Android is open source. As for brands, I currently have a Kyocera but I will probably replace it with a Samsung in a few months. I also have an "Android on a stick" attached to my bedroom TV and a Blackberry Playbook tablet.

I have no interest in using Windows on a tablet. I have a laptop running Windows 8.1, and the thought of being stuck with a tablet running a similar OS does not appeal to me.

In my younger days, the idea of being able to run the same programs on a tablet as on my work and home computers would have made the Surface a must-have, but the current me knows that I just don't use or want to use a tablet as I use a desktop or laptop PC. For Windows applications, having a keyboard and lots of memory and USB ports is a must for me and a tablet is a poor substitute for those kinds of applications, IMO.

Sure, you can attach USB hubs and get a wireless keyboard for a tablet, but what you end up with is an under powered, over priced laptop that is less convenient to transport and use than a real laptop. I love tablets and I love laptops but I want at least one of each in my toolbox. :biggrin:

I've been through quite a few android phones over the past year, and still think that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 might be the best phone I've ever owned. Battery life is outstanding and the phone is very snappy. Perfect for heavy users that are on their phones all day. The new Note 3 is out now, haven't got my hands on it yet.

The HTC One is a great phone as well. Very fast, beautiful HD screen, great speakers with Beats by Dre built in. Battery isn't great though.

Samsung Galaxy S4 is a good phone as well. A bit laggy, which is unusual on today's phones, but it has a great camera, decent battery life, and it also has a beautiful HD screen.

I'm using a Google Nexus 4 at the moment. Prefer stock android over other launchers/OS's. Plan on getting the new Nexus 5 for myself for Christmas.

Haven't owned a Blackberry since I had a Curve about 2 years ago. Haven't checked out a Blackberry since. But yeah, looks like within the next year, Blackberry will be a thing of the past. Hope that Google gets their hands on it.

I have never owned a Blackberry phone but the new Z10 and Q10 phones have both received very good reviews. Blackberry just took too long to ship products with the new OS. Now, developers are not going to spend much time developing software or converting apps from Android to the new OS. I love the Blackberry email app.

Let me also add that in texting me, my wife still seems to find it hard to realize were not suppose to text on company phones.

I've had Android and iPhone. I really see no difference from the two. You can do as much on one as you can on the other. And this is for me, I don't do much other than Twitter, Facebook, and here
