Middlesboro's secondary will have to play lights out

I'm not saying that they want to be the underdog, just wondering why 3 weeks ago Middlesboro was the overwhelming favorite. Now it seems that Somerset is the favorite as the #3 seed going to play AT the #1 seed? That last game I was told M'Boro had several players out and most still thought that they would win, now with a player or two back and you guys are bailing on the Jackets?

I'm not talking to Jacket fans, you guys are supporting your team as you should.

Coach Lucas has done a tremendous job since taking over as head coach of the jumpers. He will have them ready for the jackets. Having Lang back in the line-up for the jumpers is huge. The jumpers win this one.

If pittman isn't back by Friday then middlesboro is in deep trouble being that he is possibly the best player on both sides of the ball for middlesboro. I heard from a parent today that he was on crutches. Let's hope he's healthy and ready by Friday.

When i define MVP i think of a player who carries the team and makes the play when it HAS to be made and the team relies on. Week in and week out the best player on the team is Brayden McWilliams. Maybe not the most explosive or the most flashy, but I think he deserves the MVP at this point. Always puts himself in the right spot at the right time. I've been very impressed with his senior year so far and i hope these seniors get 3 more games after this one at least. Second place IMO goes to Bryson Jones. I think this MBoro will be fired up and go for the neck of Somerset. Look for a barn burner, but when it comes down to it, Somerset knows how to win in the post season. (maybe not that last game though)

As much as I respect McWilliams and Jones games I have to disagree with you. Without Cam Somerset loses that game to Middlesboro. He had almost 200 yards receiving at halftime, with a broken hand. He's been the only player that has been there each week that could stretch the field. They had to wait on Lange to be ready to play all season and Doan, as tough as he is, has been banged up in 2-3 games where he hasn't been able to go. Cam has been there each week. If you take him out of the offense the running game would be facing 8-9 in the box each week because he is the only receiver that the defense respects. The thing is, it doesn't really matter who the MVP has been to this point. This team's history will be written on Friday, and hopefully on the next 3 Friday's. If I'm guessing, and I hope I've read these kids correctly, then Skidmore, Lange, Cheuvront, Hatcher, McWilliams, Jones, Fox, Thompson and the rest of the group could care less who a couple of has beens think has been the season MVP. I hope that all they want to do is beat Middlesboro on Friday and get to spend another week with their brothers. Because it they are all pulling together and quit listening to fans and parents then they can not only win next week, they can win region and make a trip up to Newport to play for Bowling Green. If they want to worry about who their MVP is then they can buy a ticket to watch the Regional Finals....I'm betting they could care less who anyone thinks is the MVP.

I'm not saying he isn't the best player on the team, because he definitely is without a doubt. I wasn't trying to disrespect chevy at all he deserves every award he will get. If anyone remembers I also told everyone on here he was a top 5 receiver in the state in any class, then I got laughed at, but i honestly believe he is. I just think Brayden has been very reliable. I feel like he makes the plays or tackles the runner on a would be touchdown run, things that no one really notices. Seems like an unsung hero. Its not like it matters though, just my opinion on an opinion site. I want to see them win these games as much as anyone else, trust me.

Middlesboro fans should be glad I picked the Bunnies. They have done the opposite of what I have predicted all year. Their injury situation has made them very unpredictable.
#38
Middleboro gave up to many pts to my hometown Leslie County.upcoming team next year.

Somerset 36
Middlesboro 14

That is if Pittman not at 100 percents Middlesboro was my sleeper team all year long prove me wrong :HitWall:

This should be a very good game I like Somerset 30-26.

BL did not control Somerset's passing game, Hatcher was 2 0f 10. Most time the QB takes blame when a pass is not completed. Don't think the Def. had as much to do with is as Hatcher just not having a good game.:Thumbs:

The thing about the passing game is...it doesn't matter whether the QB was missing, the receivers were dropping passes, or the defense simply played good coverage, it looks (and works out) much the same on a box score.

Of reasons behind inconsistency in the passing game a QB having game-long poor accuracy is the most worrisome. Is it possible he's hurt ?

What happened to Pittman, what position does he play and what is his number.

No, I think he just had a bad game throwing the ball, he rushed for 130+ yds. He had played very well all year, guess he was due a bad game.

From checking Somerset's stats, Hatcher running that much is highly unusual (assuming the 130+ yds weren't all on breakout runs). In the previous games, he never had many rushing attemps.

Judging from the stats, it argues either he has a problem with his throwing arm or Betsy Layne's downfield coverage was, in fact, pretty good...

He's number 5 and plays running back and linebacker I believe so.

Somerset by 21

mboro wins in overtime by 7

Somerset needs to develop some consistency in their play calling. The BL game they were unable to mount consistent drives, luckily the big plays were enough for that win, I don't think those will be available at M-Boro.
#49
I like Somerset to take a 2nd win over Middlesboro, should be a good, close game.

Somerset - 29

Middlesboro - 27

Somerset 35, Middleboro 34

Somerset will do whatever it takes to win this game. They will have Lang back that they didn't have the 1st time around. Also Hatcher will be 100% this game.
#52
The last three games that Hatcher has played, he has turn the ball over 12 times. Too many three and out.
#53
Also what do you mean 100%, if you can run the ball like he did last Friday night
then there did not seem to be a problem.
#54
Somerset has the team to win this thing. However will the best players be put where they need to be on the field. McWilliams is a beast but only ran the ball one time, seriously in my opinion he has earn that position.
#55
We were not at the game Friday, listen to it on the radio and read the paper. If they said that we played that bad then it must have been really bad.
#56
Let's go all the way!! We would love to do Thanksgiving on the road!!
#57
I don't think Middlesboro will give up without a win Friday either but we'll have to wait until Friday to see. I don't think the same Middlesboro team that showed up against leslie will show up against somerset. In my opinion somerset was a lot better last year than they are this year an Middlesboro had them beat until the last 2 minutes of that game.
