Looks like a very good field. Like to see Corbin and Whitley matched up on a neutral court. This would help establish the pecking order in the 13th. Harlan County is also a favorite in the 13th.

Berea College has made Berea Community cancel this tournament after 20 + years. Berea Community High School is going crazy over this and the head of the Seabury Center at Berea College needs to be FIRED.
#5
The tournament is cancelled?
#6
As of right now, its trying to be figured out but its not looking good. Was told this by MSHS basketball coach.
#7
What are these people thinking??? If they cancel this tournament it is already too late to try and get in another one! This is STUPID!!! Somebody better fix this or there is going to be alot of pissed off players and fans!
#8
If the girls tournament is canceled, is the boys canceled too? hosting the girls and boys tournament at the same time is hard to do for a high school that has to use three gyms.
#9
Are you sure they are not talking about future years and not this year?
#10
This year...call Ryan Hess at Berea College.
#11
Talked with Ryan Hess he said that Berea College has held a portion of the Lady Pirate Classic but the gym wasn't reserved by Berea Community High School this season.

This might effect both boys and girls tourneys.

Sounds like to me there is a power struggle going on. I find it hard to believe we find this out in November.
#13
This Tournament has been going on AT BEREA COLLEGE for almost 20 years, you think the College would know.

Yes it has but if the high school didn't reserve the gym this year then it's the high school's fault, not Berea college

It sounds like a load from the college.... It sounds like that didn't want it anymore and this is a way out. It may NOT be like that but it sure sounds like it. If I was the college I would work something out as this looks bad on both but for me personally it looks worse on the College.

You all have NO IDEA how tough it is to work with Berea College.

The Tournament is still on. Nothing is being canceled. The tournament will be held at Berea Community (both gyms) and Berea College. Changes (if any) to the Tournament or site will be sent to the head coaches ASAP. This being the 20th year for the Berea Holiday Classic and the combination of 16 boys teams and 16 girls teams, it will be a great opportunity for fans and college coaches to witness some great basketball.
