Big time city rivalry game for the 1st round of the playoffs. One of the better games in the 1/4 matchup. Tates Creek beat Dunbar in week 0 by 1 in a close game. The rematch shows 2 teams that have evolved and changed a bit over the year. Tates creek won the district championship and Dunbar finished in a 3 way for for 2nd in their district, but by points virtue got the 4 seed.
This has the makings of a heckuva game. Dunbar will try to ground and pound from the triple option set and keep the ball from the explosive offense of Tates Creek. I love this matchup. Another tough, gritty city rivalry affair.
I like Creeks ability to strike from all over the field against the more deliberate style of Dunbar. Turnovers will play a major role in this one.
I like Creek by 2 scores in this one. 35-21.

64. I love your prediction. But I think that Dunbar is going to score more than that. I sure do hope we clamp them to 7 points....but I'll take it.

Dunbar by 3.

I've said before, it looks like Lexington football is coming on strong as of late. Rains has done a good job of turning Dunbar around, but I'll go with the Creekers in this one. 24-14

While both teams are very talented, I think Creek has just a tad bit more talent, due to their passing game. This game comes down to coaching to their teams strengths. Tates Creek has been confused all year in establishing their identity on offense. While Dunbar knows exactly what they have in the Triple Option. Creek so desperately wants to establish a run game, that they neglect their passing attack (in most games this year) to the point that they allow teams to stay in the game until the 3rd quarter (when they decide to start passing the ball). If Creek goes to the air early, they win this game big... If they run the ball (wild cat, etc.) more than they pass it in the first two quarters (as they did against Lafayette), Dunbar will go ahead at half time, and Creek will be hard pressed to get back in the game. I give the edge to Dunbar, based solely on game planning and strategy, their coaching staff will not be experimenting in this game, they will go with what has been working for them all year. However, if Creek comes out throwing, they will win big (but they haven't in most of their games). I will say this... Creek won't be able to "onside kick" their way out of this one, they will have to beat Dunbar on their merits and not trick plays!

Tates Creek is at it's best when it runs off of its passing game. Creek is too adept in the passing game to go away from it. They cause so many problems for teams in the air. Again, they are most effective when running draws and runs off of the pass game. That also keeps the pass rush at bay. If they come out aggressive, Creek can run away wit this one. If it's a conservative approach, all bets are off.

I look for this to be a very close game. Tates Creek by 6.
