Who wins and why? Obviously I'm going to pull for my Jumpers, but I know nothing about Betsy Layne other than they have a very impressive record coming in. Who are the players to watch for?

Bunnies by 20.

Betsy Layne, has not played anyone other than Prestonsburg. Got beat by 3 scores. If Somerset get's #1 or #2 Tb's back they will handle them pretty easy. Now with that being said they better go ready to play!!!! I pick Jumpers by 28 +

Can't fault them for the schedule they played...they played it and are 9-1...might have been 9-1 with a tougher schedule as well.
Here's a question for some of the Far Eastern Kentuckians...
1) What kind of O does Betsy Lane run?
2) What kind of Base D do they run?
3) Who are the players to watch? Name, #, Position and Year
4) What kind of field does Betsy Lane have? Turf or Grass? Any Photos?
As you can tell I know very very little about Betsy Lane!

I think Somerset takes this one without too much trouble no matter if they have their #1 or #2 running back. I've got complete confidence in McWilliams and Jones running the football against Betsy Layne--especially as long as we have Hatcher and Cheuvront in the lineup.

They run spread off. 1 back set, 2 back set, sometime empty backfield. Gun and some pistol. Def is base 4-4 with adjustments to opt. sets. QB is real accurate on short passes. Struggles with long ball, not real mobile. RB's run hard., not real fast. They have a real nice Turf Field. Hope that helps!!!

Betsy Layne has a nice quaterback. He has a decent arm and he's pretty accurate.
They threw the ball well against Prestonsburg in the first half, but Prestonsburg took their best player in Jarred Jarrell and had him play man on BL's go to receiver #4 Peyton Case and Prestonsburg shut the BL offense down after that.
If I'm Somerset I don't overlook Betsy Layne. This is the best team they've ever had at their school and anything can happen, but I do think it will be a close game in the first half, but midway through the 3rd I think Somerset will stretch out their lead and eventually win by 20.
Best of luck to both!

Betsy Layne by 14...don't know anything about either team except the records of each team. Hard to think a number 2 seed is the underdawg...in this case I guess they are.

Obivously you don't have a clue about Betsy Layne just Somerset or you wouldn't have been asking all the questions about their team. I guess I hit a nerve.

Nerve hit :please:, you just stated that all you knew was their records and was basing your picks off of that it looked like. Somerset has been a perennial challenger to region and semi-state championships, winning 4 regional titles in a row. Somerset has played without RB#1 in all but 3 quarters this season, RB #2 has missed the last 2-3 games and the QB missed a game and a half...but is back. There is a chance that RB #1 may be back for playoffs. Somerset has played one of the tougher schedules in the state for a 2A team losing to a couple of really good teams (Pulaski and Belfry) and beating a couple of really good 2A teams (Glasgow 9-1 and Middlesboro) handily...there now you know a little bit about Somerset.
I asked what specific D and O they ran and what kind of field they have...I knew their record but also know enough to know that the teams on their schedule weren't world beaters. I was just curious what kind of offense we would be going against this week.
Welcome to BGR
