Congrats Coach Haywood, you have nothing to prove in the media, you have taken a good team from pond creek to several title games, and have won a couple titles, and some of these teams were in BG, and Louisville because you took them there on coaching ability, even when you were over matched on the field... You are the X-factor on the sideline... Great person, and great "Coach"!!!! Well deserved!

My opinion is he is just a stupid kid. No need to get all riled up. We all have made stupid remarks before trying to be funny and it not go over like we thought it would. Maybe after all the backlash he reads on here, he might rethink how he phrases thing.

But the person who posted the seizure comment wants to draw a reaction, and by the responses and the "likes," he is getting one. If you ignore it (I know from experience

With that being said, and I've been one to pick at Haywood's state title game record, making fun of a health issue (I take it he's making fun of an illness Haywood has, I know little about Haywood) or any individual is far too extreme and something that should never be made fun of.

Normally my policy is not to feed the troll. This one however got to me. He may have gotten the reaction he wanted with the backlash but this is one time I can allow myself to break my rule.

Exactly 0304. The fact that he is allowed to remain a member of BGR after personal attacks like that says a lot about this site IMO. Permanent banning is the only fit punishment.

From a Belfry fan's perspective, I can definitely understand how that would upset you, APF. I enjoy riling up the Belfry faithful and even I cringed at seeing the comment, so I could only imagine how that impacted you.
The comment should not have been said, regardless - but when he makes a comment like that, he is hoping for nasty replies and private messages, which he got the replies and likely got a few private messages. I know it's difficult to ignore, but if that can be accomplished then it will hurt him more than any response would. I would also be shocked if the user who made the comment will reappear in the thread.
I will add that I now know more about Haywood's medical condition. Having seen him coach before, I didn't notice it. Hopefully he will continue to beat it and be an example to those that have this condition that you are still capable of succeeding. He still looks very good for someone who has been coaching for 38 years and I sure hope he is around for many more.
