Grambling forfeits game in protest
#1
This is an embarrassing story for Grambling administration

Grambling State football players complained of mold and mildew on equipment and in facilities, having to pay for Gatorade out of their own pockets and even said which assistants they thought would make a good interim coach after the firing of Doug Williams in a letter to the administration obtained by ESPN's Pedro Gomez.

On Friday, Grambling State canceled its football game against Jackson State after Grambling's disgruntled players refused to travel from their Louisiana campus to Jackson, Miss., for the game Saturday.

School officials are meeting this weekend in an effort to reach a resolution with the disgruntled players and avoid any more forfeits, school spokesman Will Sutton said. Among those meeting are university president Frank Pogue, athletic director Aaron James and Dennis "Dirt" Winston, the team's third coach this season.

Grambling use to be a great program, wonder what happened....the pictures of their equipment and facilities are horrible.

Grambling needs a new AD and more alumni support, to say the least.Coach Eddie Robinson must be ashamed to see what he has built completely disintegrate. So Grambling, as of now, in their 2 largest revenue sports, has a football team that refuses to play (with good reason) and they're 0-8, and they have a men's basketball team that went 0-28 last season. It's about time for some heads to roll down there.

this definitely falls on the athletic director, and i'd go as far as the president too. there's no excuse for equipment to look that bad. that's a health hazard. plus, making your team ride in a bus for half of a day is ridiculous. Some places, it's actually cheaper to fly.

this sounds like an AD that likes their cozy position and forgot about the work that came with it
