Paintsville @ Fairview 10/11
#61
This game doesn't mean a lot. Paintsville will probably finish 3rd in the district and blow out the #2 team from the other district in the first round of the playoffs. Then Raceland or Fairview will have to face Paintsville in the second round possibly with Daniel back. Then it will get very interesting...

Definitely goina come out and see this game friday. Idk if its the fact that football in ky as a whole is down this year, or if 1A truly is the best over all class, but I cant remember the last time you had people talking about 3 teams from one district(Raceland Fairview Paintsville) 2 from another MF and Rville and 2 from another Bellevue and Beechwood, all being contenders for their respective district championships. Idk how good bellevue's defense is, but their offense is clicking prett well. Watched some film on Bw and their play up front seems pretty weak. In my honest opinion, we will be looking at Rville/Mayfield from the west and Pikeville/Fairview or Hazard/Raceland from the east. I watched some practice, talked w coaches, and I think Raceland has made the offensive corrections and the defensive scheme adjustments to make things happen this year. The mindset of the team seems to be much different than a week ago. I think the loss to Lawrence in the end could havebeen a good thing for Raceland. All the seniors were very upset w losing at home on their final homecoming. Still gotta prove it on the field, but there is definitely a different mentalī and vibe in that locker room after the bye week.

I don't think football is down in Ky. I think people are just seeing the tip of the iceberg with all the shifts to the new style offenses and they can't wrap their brains around the scoring margins. Look at college and you see the same thing. I keep hearing the commentators asking where the defense is there as well.

I think tht has something to do with it, it just seems ithasbeen awhile since there has been such a difference between the top 5 or 6 teams in each class and the bottom 5 or 6 in each top 10. 1A has always been like that but I kind of feel like this year its like that across the board. Outside of 1A u can just about already predict up to the state semis, what teams will be there.

AA District 7 should be a very good district most years.

2A improved alot the last alignment w NCC, Danville, Somerset and others moving up. Before that the few years prior were really rough in 2A. The years Russell went to back to back state championships, 2A was really down outside of them and Owensboro. Not taking anything from them, they could have probably won 3 A that year as well. But NCC, Mayfield, Beechwood and Danville(in 1A), could have all atleast made it to a state title in the 1st 3 classes in 04/05.

3a seems to be the class that could use some help. Usually just Belfry and Central.

Is it possible the Daniel kid will be back playoff time.

Paintsville is having a really good year but this game is at Fairview and it is hard to beat them at home. The streak continues and I have the game Eagles 35 and Paintsville 24. Good luck to the Tigers though, hope you prove me wrong.

Which district is that? Meaning who falls in it?

Middlesboro, LCA, Somerset, Danville

^^^ that is a competitve district. LCA was a tough out when the were 1A.. Always wished they and Raceland could have kept that game even though they were no longer district foes. By its end, that was a good, clean, wholesome rivalry. Especially from 06-08. LCA owned it the last 2 years(ended up going to s championship and winning another), but still was a great rivalry. Hated to see it go away.

Why are we talking about AA district 7 in the Paintsville Fairview thread?
#74
^^^^with the Paintsvilles revival on the gridiron, we started discussing the fact that even with Nicholas being way down this ear that Raceland, Fairview, and Paintsvikke had the strongest Nd most complete overall district. Then a few other members made a few comments here and there and SHOCK we got off topic. Idk if there has been a thread in the history of these things that hasnt included random out of nowhere conversation. Funny, we all know and often say "use the pm" br we rarely do. Sooooo...back to the topic. This game will give us alot of perspective on where Paintsville is, even woth out Daniels. How tey fair without him will tell us what to expect of they get the chance to play deep into the playoffs.

Pugsly, it won't be that big. These are two ball control type offenses and therefore should have defenses to stop the run. That spells a shortened game. I think the Eagles will win but not by blowout.

Paintsville has come a long way this season but I don't think they can hang with Fairview. This is a totally different animal than the Tigers have played this season. I think Paintsville will hang for a while but in the end Fairview will win by 2-3 td's

I take it that kickoff is at 7p eastern time.
