Any truth about KHSAA investigating Cordia?
10-02-2013, 09:09 PM
Shouldn't they?
10-02-2013, 09:12 PM
Any possible truth went out the window when you said, "KHSAA investigating."
10-03-2013, 02:30 AM
They would be hard pressed to investigate Cordia when they have ignored much larger schools bringing in children to play football.
10-03-2013, 07:07 AM
I doubt KHSAA is investigating them.
10-03-2013, 07:51 AM
There is absolutely no truth to this. This is just someone's attempt to get a rumor started on this board. If that is the case why are they not investigating perry co. They have brought in a boat load of players down there also.

KHSAA isn't investigating any of the 14th region teams that I am aware of?

While I agree with you about Perry Co., Cordia has been pretty "in your face" about it.

KHSAA is not.... YET...
Because Cordia has not sent any paperwork in on any new players yet. Therefore KHSAA has not records of new players at Cordia..... YET!

Cavenaugh Trent and Mrs. King are the ones who won't submit the papers. They are trying to play the stall game with the paperwork. KCC is in charge of submitting the paperwork for Cordia.

Isn't each school's AD and Principal responsible for sending in their own athlete's paperwork?
10-04-2013, 05:04 PM
What are they doing that every school in the 14th has not been doing for years.
Somebody just jealous.

Easy Wind is correct. Cavenaugh Trent is the AD for both Knott Central & Cordia & he helps coach baseball at Knott Central. He is the reason the players at Cordia are not eligible yet.

Nepotism??

They should be!! They need to take notes and learn how to get kids the attention that the Cordia players have been getting. 16 D-1 programs have been on Lotts Creek just to watch open gym. 5 seniors and the 8th grader has been offered. They haven't been that many D-1 programs watch A 14th region game in the last 10 years!! LOL

Cordia is small potatoes compared to some of the larger schools in the state with this kind if stuff, particularly the football, basketball, and baseball powerhouses in Jefferson County that use the "open enrollment" policy to pull players in from all over a county that has 700,000 population. The KHSAA should be embarrassed to target Cordia after what they have allowed other schools to do over the years.

He has a responsibility to forward the paper work on to the KHSAA. It is not his or the superintendent's duty to make a biased decision against another school within their district when they are suppose to be representing all schools in their public district. It is the duty of the KHSAA to make the eligibility decisions. Anyway, I think it is the duty of Cordia's principal to send in the paperwork, not the AD. He may have to sign it, but the principal is responsible for geting it together and sending it to the KHSAA.

If it is left up to Mr. Trent, the Cordia players will never be eligible because he will leave something off of the paper work just to get it kicked out and sent back. The Principal of Cordia needs to get the paper work done, if he knows how, and get it sent out for these kids. Don't wait until the last minute, or they will never play one minute this year.

I don't really think you have to "investigate" something that is flagrant and obvious.
You just have to decide if you're going to continue to turn away and ignore it, as they have the last couple of years with the international Brandon Bender AAU pipeline to the mountain schools, or if they're actually going to put a foot down and say enough is enough.
If you want to be a prep school, then be a prep school. Don't even pretend you're running a team for your high school's kids to play basketball against kids who attend other high schools. Get out of the KHSAA and go play the other glorified AAU basketball academies.

I think every single kid that has moved to Cordia to play should be eligible. I dont know why basketball player factories like Perry County and Knott County would even care who they got up at Cordia. I mean since a kid turns 5 years old or maybe earlier it lives in the gym around here. These local boys should be able to compete with anything Rhodes throws at them. That is, if we are really that basketball oriented like some seem to think we are here in Knott and Perry Counties. Bring on the competition baby.

[Image: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/image...mLEmThN7XA] I know who you are. I know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let this Cordia thing go now and turn the paperwork in, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you.
