Fairview 30 Hazard 27
#1
final
#2
congrats fairview, Hazard I think was actually blocking for fairview's runners on a few plays. Giving them away boys.
#3
Congrads Fairview and they earned this win...
#4
Great game. I was listening. The Eagles trailed the entire game until they went up 30-27. I could not believe the dogs coaching staff kept kicking right to them instead of squibbing or something. That was what kept the Eagles in the game.

These regular season games are all learning experiences but Fairview made the adjustments and won this game.
#6
Great game for the radio. Always something going on. Fairview needs to throw that dang horn away though.
#7
Fairview doesn't make the plays they did then there not even in the game... But I am impressed because there defense was big....
#8
gr8 game,congrats Fairview
#9
I also must say before anyone jumps me because I said there wasn't a game if u take those out offensively Fairview only put up 2 tds.... But as coach Dixon said in the pregame these games mean nothing.. But this will be a learning experience...

Congrats Fairview, got to listen to the second half
#13
Sooooo.....

The Eastern Semi-State is very, very balanced between about 5 teams and will be an all-out shootout come November...

... just in case no one already knew that.

Fairview had 3 players that was susp for the first half , but played in the 2nd half . A DL , DE , & LB . Our DE Caleb McNight was a big loss for us in the 1st half , but really helped us when he got to play in the 2nd half

South part of East is a two team race. Hazard and Williamsburg should play in regional finals again. Hazard appears to be getting better as the year rolls along. Raceland, Fairview and Pikeville in North region. Any one of those three could win that region.
#16
Paintsville is capable of an upset if they are healthy.
#17
Congrats Eagles...great win! No comments by eye sore...mmmmm.....interesting.

Hazard's special teams need to buckle down !! Their own worst enemy right now !!!
#19
Fairview wins at home, like most of us had said they would. Friend of mine that was at the game said Hazard should have won, but were their own worst enemy. Hazard has a very good team, season far from over for them from this loss.

Patch, in listening to the game it sure sounded that. I don't think Fairview had a first down the entire first half but only trailed by 5 points. The problem was that the dogs kept kicking the ball deep the fast returners of the Eagles. That accounted for a touchdown and 2 returns very deep into the dogs territory. I think after the first big return you learn you are better off doing an onside or a squib kick every time. They would have come out of those 2 situations with more field to defend. The int's can happen but if you just take wawy the big returns the dogs win.

I opted to watch this game instead of going to Coal Grove to watch Raceland play because as a football fan I knew this would be a better game to watch. Hazard IMO should have won by at least two scores. Hazard was outcoached last night plain and simple. Fairview made adjustments at halftime and Hazard did not. For the life of me I cannot understand why Hazard stopped running the ball and grinding the clock like they did in the first half because Fairview couldn't stop their running attack. Hazard dominated the line of scrimmage the whole first half and I don't understand why they changed in the second half. The kickoff a before half were huge because they set up the field goal that have Fairview momentum going into halftime. I was not overly impressed with Fairview's offense an if you take away several big plays they wouldn't have scored half of their points. Right now after seeing both Raceland and Fairview play I think the Rams are two scores better at this point.

Who is #4 for Fairview? That kid is a burner! I this he is step for step as fast as Baker from Ashland

Can't compare games good class A football game from what I hear Fairview playing young skill guys they will get better they have played much tougher schedule than Raceland thus far hard to tell who's better at this point

I agree with you totally and it was just my observation that Raceland looks better right now. When the game is played you have to throw everything out especially since it is a rival game. I think Raceland should be able to beat Fairview but it really comes down to Raceland stepping up in a big game. The past several years Fairview has owned Raceland and that may not change this year because Raceland doesn't know how to win when they need to. Last night Fairview stepped up and didn't panic when they were down and won the game. That is something that I have not seen Raceland do in a long time and I still have doubts that this years Raceland team has the mental toughness to step up when they need to. As far as on field performance goes I think Raceland is a little bit better but the game could very easily go either way and I would not be surprised at all if Fairview beat Raceland by two scores instead of the other way around.
#25
I too feel that Raceland is the better team this year. We won't have to guess for long though, because they will settle this on the field.

Did Hazard still have 3 starters out for this game??

:welcome: to Williamsburg hazard and fairview if you make it :welcome: to Williamsburg for some reason I left pikeville off :biglmao:

Raceland showed good toughness lastnight. Tbh, Raceland looked to be giving the game away, but managed to do just enough. They have yet to put a complete game together. This game and the Ashland game made all the starters play 4 quarters. That will pay off in te long run. I would say that Bellevue and Ashland are about even as far as competition goes. And Hazard is a bit better. Racelands schedule as a whole is as strong as Fairviews, but up to this point, Fairview has played a tougher schedule. Though Ashland, Greenup, and Lawrence are all better than many expected. By the time the Eagles and Rams square off in a few weeks, we will know what is goina happen the rest of the way out. Single A ball is hard to judge comparing scores. Match ups are hard to judge simply by a score.

I think hazard will win the region this year!!!!! just getting ready for the playoffs go BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!
