Sounds like 2008 all over again. Now would be the time to schedule the games for varsity for 2015-16 right after the 2 year game contracts are up. Just a thought since we never got to see the boys play from that undefeated SK team vs HHS at the varsity lv. Both would be fun too watch.
Nice win SK, still a lot of work to do to match the 08 team.
HHS still a ton of football left....whos up next.
UK do you know if anyone has any stats for the game just wanted to know how it all played out?

WOW... Hyped up for a freshman game? Who cares? Freshman games are just like little scrimmages. Varsity is where it counts. 2015-2016 is far from their mind for the Birds. Birds are focus in winning another state..

When Highlands fans say SK can't hang with them in a game but get shut out by SK then it is something to talk about! Eat some cake!

Why don't the two schools play one another??????

Highlands varsity beats you with depth. They rotate their receivers on every play in order to wear out the secondary. By the second half, their receivers are wide open and its easy pitch and catch. Outside of T or X, nobody has the depth to play them. About 110 on their varsity roster. Ryle and SK for example are at about 80 and Boone about 60.
The only thing you learn from playing them is that you don't have the depth to beat them.
As far as this game was concerned, I was shocked at how small the HHS frosh were. Even by HHS standards. I though I was looking at middle school athletes playing up. Numbers were down to. Only about 40 on the sideline.
I just did not see the aggression and confidence that I've seen from HHS frosh in the past.
SK scored on two turnover gifts. The rest of the game was fairly even although SK did move the ball more consistently.

Any win over Highlands is a good win. But stringing together 4 classes and beating Highlands is much tougher.

it's just freshman football

It is just freshman football, but it is also Highlands.

Highlands has 96 varsity players not 110. They will however dress the freshmen once their season is over.
This current Sr Class only had 44 players when they were freshmen. Took on a really good ST X team "With" 100+ players and beat them. Yeah numbers help but...out of those players, who are the best 11 you run with?

It always feels good to beat HHS even if it's in checkers and that's just cause of there sucess. It's like that with every school like them in the state. Simon's off season workouts have been great I feel the programs picking up speed. The biggest thing I see is the development of these kids on the field. This year's senior class was 6-4, I think as freshman and were honestly an average team. They were more into fundamentals than W's and L's. From what I understand they have some quality young football players coming up as well.

Actually another word that starts with bull. :lame:
Tired old excuse used by fans of teams who cannot compete with Highlands. Proof please.
More likely they will do better as they work hard in an extremely well run and coached program.

Highlands will always attract talent from surrounding public school districts. Especially those that are naive enough to schedule them! Expect Coach Lickert to reap the rewards of scheduling HHS!

I think people forget or do not know that last year Highlands closed to all transfers due to increased student population in Ft Thomas.

Sir, do not confuse the issue with FACTS!:dontthink Everyone knows the unsubstantiated rumors are true. After all, I met someone who knew someone who spoke to someone whose third cousin twice removed's girlfriend met someone in a bar who said....

Give SK their props. They are 1 - 25 vs The Birds all time. It could happen again. It is a shame that every time SK is better than Highlands they don't get a chance to prove it.
