Coach Larkey has done a tremendous job at North. North and South have reversed fortunes. Maybe with the new staff at South both schools can be competitive at the same time. South has got some catching up to do. I'm sure Coach Rhymer will do fine if given support and the necessary resources.

This is the funniest thing I've read so far. I doubt Blair and Nelson fear or panic about much! They are both 4 year Varsity starters not freshmen. Who panics in football?? Nelson is faster than anyone on Williamsburg & could keep the ball & run every time. Blair can just run over players.

And besides, that was Norths only two wins against Whitley other than the 1994 season.

I think Williamsburg is being underestimated up front. They do not have the depth North does but Helton is one of the best linemen in the state. Wilson is not far behind and Lamree will more than hold his own. They also have 4 or 5 kids who although not stars are very serviceable high school linemen. Dunn, Perry, Taylor and Caddell do a good job. Caddell has started 2 years and Taylor and Perry are seniors who have been to war before.

Williamsburg must be the best team in the STATE!! They have the best linemen in the state, the best QB in the state and the best receivers in the state. Now the only flaw may be the RB's, no one has said they are the best in the state. But, I am sure that they are close!! How could anyone ever underestimate a team like that!!!
Williamsburg 45- North 6

Their running backs are pretty good.

Let's just be honest here...A 5A school should rarely lose to a 1A school...numbers usually triumph. That being said, Williamsburg is a pretty good 1A, and from what I've seen North has a good group of skills. The game will be decided by who makes the fewest mistakes, who is better conditioned, and who has the intestinal fortitude to seize it. Williamsburg's lack of numbers will hurt them if any injuries occur. No Williamsburg probably doesn't have the best anything at any position in the state as a previous writer sarcastically put it..but they are a heck of a lot of fun to watch as they are usually overmatched physically and talent wise, but seem to pull out an awful lot of wins. And that's a great testament to the kids wearing Orange, and Jerry Herron and his coaching staff..Hoping for a good game with no injuries for either side...

North has some pretty good backs don't think Williamsburg will be able to stop them all night long. North will wear Williamsburg down with there depth.

I fully believe numbers doesnt mean as much in the state of Kentucky.
There is such a small amount of good programs with good coaches, that some guys can take 20 kids and destroy teams with 50 or 60.
In this state, its more about the programs than it is the numbers. There are not enough coaches in this state that runs a type of offense and defense where numbers actually help them if they have that. Many coaches IMHO, arent skilled enough to construct a playbook that is similar to a college playbook where different packages consist of different players. Good coaches can rotate almost an entire second team of receiver in on offense by yelling one word on the sideline and it really wears other teams down that cant do that, but so few teams and coaches can pull that off that it doesnt matter. Its the reason some of these 5A and 6A teams with 80 kids still struggle big time. If you put a really good coach in some of those Lex and NKY schools that dress 70 or 80 kids, you can be very successful, so long as you can also control your players and teach them discipline.

I do not know who wins this game, but I do predict a low scoring game. Williamsburg is pretty good with their big guys. They have what I think is the best DT in the area (no joke), and their defense plays hard. North will blitz and give the Jackets problems protecting the QB. The question is will all that pressure make Williamsburg's quarterbackl turn the ball over. He gets a little turnover prone. For North, when Williamsburg gets them out of the I formation. Can they throw the ball enough to some talented recievers to keep Williamsburg from stacking the box. This will be a real interesting game. Too bad it is on Saturday when I will be in Nashville watching the CATS!!!

So you are saying that a team with 15 kids is gonna be as good as one with 80, right? I can't seem to follow your logic. I would still say that you should be coaching somewhere though. Because it is obvious that your are the second coming of Lombardi!! I only wish you would reveal yourself to the world so that EVERYONE could see GREATNESS!! But, I guess we will always be left wondering who this great football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, softball, volleyball and tennis coach is!!!

You give me the top 15 players off of Trinity's team and I beat 80 kids off a team like Rockcastle,Somerset, Hazard, Perry Central, North Laurel, South Laurel, Clay, and about anyone like that and a lot of smaller 6A teams

I agreee! But that is not how it was said. Gut said the number of players didnt matter not that he took the top 15 off of the best team in the state to play. Again, i just cant follow that logic. But i will say that he sure contradicts himself a bunch!!

No reason to be a dousched about it.
You can take 5 very talented kids with a good coach and beat the dog crap out of a team of 80 kids that arent organized, not very athletic, and poorly coached.
Take Wburg for example. Theyd beat South Laurel to death and South has over a 1000 more kids than Wburg in there school.
Seems your the one that needs to introduce yourself to the world so we can stay away from the garbage.
