Knox County @ Harlan County Scrimmage 8/15
#1
So what people thoughts on this? Will either team show little if any of what we can expect from them this season?
#2
IMO neither team will show much at all!! Cause they will meet again in about a month in reg season..
#3
That's what everybody else thinks, too. With neither team showing very much, it's hard to predict anything about the game.

I'm just thankful that football season is here again and cannot wait for each and every game!!!!

Here's to wishing for an injury free season for both Knox & Harlan Counties.

Go Black Bears!!!!!

You so funny!!!! :biglmao:

The only thing I could see Knox doing is really letting the freshman Qb get some reps so he can get a feel for the speed of high school ball, and see how he reacts to the real game speed.
#9
Gut has us winning by a field goal!

How do you feel about that freshman QB, panthernation?
#10
^
Only because its a scrimmage.

Somebody is going to lose by at least 1pt. Confusednicker:

I predict pain. Both of these teams will get after you.
#13
I just hope both teams come out healthy and get some younger kids some game time action.

From what I've seen kids got big time arm, needs to get a little better with foot work, and just get use to the speed and take what the defense gives him. If he can get the little things down the panthers could be a very hard team to stop.
#15
I don't expect much! Bigger things than bragging rights for these two teams this year! I bet no one cares what the final score is.

Not necessarily.

Its a scrimmage. They could tie and call it quits....
#17
I expect both teams second strings will see atleast 3/4 of the scrimmage.

I would expect this scrimmage to look like a "lineman" camp at Laurel County Confusednicker:

Is that a shot?
That sounds like a shot!!

I agree that both teams will keep the cards close to the vest. May see more passing from both than in reg season. As for the Freshmen QB, he will make some mistakes. The more KC throws it the more likely he will be to make more mistakes. But he will learn and grow. Casey loves the job and works hard to improve.

Nobody gave him a shot just a few years ago to ever take a snap as QB when he was tossing balls back to Codi 50 yards after Codi kicked field goals. Now he has that shot to prove on the field that he can do it and so far in practice and 7 on 7 he has more than earned the spot. I enjoyed it more when Codi when chasing QB's. Now having one playing the position just makes me nervous. I will be the big ball of nerves sitting in the stands praying every snap he is safe.

Feel free to be critical of him on this board or in the stands. I've gotten older so I don't punch near as hard as I used to... LOL.

I feel your pain!!

Being a Freshman will inspire his effort, I'm sure! I certainly wish him an injury free season, and personal progress.

I won't be critical of him in the stands or on the boards. I've gotten older, too and don't take a punch as well as I once did!
#21
I can't stress enough how I hope that this scrimmage comes out injury free. These are to very physical teams. Good luck to both teams throughout the season.
#22
two not to. sorry
#23
I am so looking forward to going to Harlan tomorrow to see the new field and two great teams. I know it is only a scrimmage but it leads the way to the opening of the 2013 season and I would like to wish the best to all the mountain teams. I also hope everyone has a injury free season and you win every game unless your playing KC!!! what can I say I'm a Panther fan.

It's 49 degrees in Harlan County this morning. Can't say that ever remember an August when we had temps in the 40s!! LOL But it should make for a perfect football evening.

Welcome back football season; I have sorely missed you!!!!

Here's to an injury free season for ALL the teams!!!

Go Black Bears!!

All I can say granny is if its this cold already just wait for those October and November games. You may not have enough cloths is your car to make it though the season..... Lol.... Also lets pray for a injury free season to all.
#26
You know how superstitious us die hard fans are!! Well, it's always been a tradition in our family to outfit our cars for football season just after we get back from family vacation.....so that's what we did!! I have posted before that I could survive a week in Nome Alaska living from the back of my car; I still think I could. I always pack extra clothes, blankets, and THIS year I have a personal size heater that fits nicely on the top of a small 10" tank of propane. Pappy Bear never goes anywhere without his bottled water & snacks....could feed a small family from the pockets on his football seat!

I'm sure you're not old enough to remember the football field at Lynch, KY but I sure do!! That was the coldest place on the planet on Friday nights in November! Our stadium approximates the distance from the river that that stadium was located. It does get cold if you are sitting still, but WE never do that!!

I thought about going to watch Corbin and Middlesboro but may just get off on 119 in Pineville and head to Harlan. Sounds like a great scrimmage.:eyeroll:
