Collins 2013
#31
Anderson County returns 19/22 starters from a team that loss to Franklin County on the last play and beat Shelby County by 1 point. The same as Collins. The game will be close.
#32
South Oldham and Central Hardin Away game are always a challange.
Not sure what N. Oldham has returning.
#33
I just read where Collins beat Owen County in overtime in 7 on 7 now that has me scratchingmy head .
#34

I am trying to tell you, they are not that good of a team.
#36
They will have problems hanging with SK.
#37
It has been said many times - 7-on-7 is not a actual football game. A record of 25-0 in 7-on-7 is very impressive and I would think that invariably there would be a close game or 2 out of 25 matches. Whether or not they will match up with SK in an actual game will be seen soon enough. I have seen several of there players both skill and linemen this summer in camps. If anyone thinks SK will just walk out an beat them they are in for a tremendous letdown. Collins has a very nice team and SK will have to play a solid game to beat them as will Collins to beat SK. I feel that the NKY people are basing everything off of last years game against Highlands. This is a new year and SK is not Highlands by any stretch of the imagination. Collins will beat them handily in my opinion.

SK could hang with Highlands and possibly beat them !

And in that game you proved/showed that Collins was not a very good team. Maybe you will be better this year, but not enough to beat SK or to compete against quality teams.

Like I said on other topic, I don't see SK schedule that much more difficult.

Yeah i am sure Collins could beat X in a scrimmage. Big Grin

You're right. Collins, a 3 year old school, playing in their first state championship with only 4 seniors, didn't look very good against Highlands, one of the elite programs in Kentucky a 20 something time state champion. However, that does not mean that Collins is worse than Boone County that went 1-10 last season.

Any team that wins 11 games and makes the state championship and returns everyone the following season is going to be alright. There are a whole lot of kids who know they didn't put up their best fight in a game last season in Bowling Green who have been working hard since the first of December. I'm sure with another year of growth and hard work, Collins may be a little bit better than last season.

Collins isn't up to the level of Highlands, but they are going to have a pretty darn good football team this year.

Maybe just maybe Owen. Might be pretty good I look forward to Simon Kenton and Owen county making nky proud this year

Owen County is a lil 2a school. They wasn't very good last year.
#45
Well I guess Coach Fowler at Owen, who buy the way learned from the best, should have gone to the UK 7-7 and played with the big boys. So glad you want to base the Titans attack on how well they played Owen in a 7-7.

With all the D1 players Collins has it shouldn't have been close. I guess we will see what happensin a few weeks.

I take going 6-4 as a as a good year especially with us building the program back up
And with us having a good passing league it will carry over to the regular season

So you do not want us to base Collins on play against a small 2A team that beat you in 7 on 7, you do not want Collins to be judged by their weak schedule because according to you and other Collins fans schedule does not matter, and we can't base it on their performance against Highlands in the state game because they just played a bad game and laid an egg according to you. So my question is how are we suppose to judge/evaluate Collins?

Highlands would beat Simon Kenton to death. Heck, Collins will probably beat SK by 2 touchdowns.

Owen County did not beat Collins. They did not lose at all this summer.

Collins does not have a weak schedule and no one said it didn't matter, because your schedule does matter. I will admit they don't have a tough schedule, but it is definitely not weak.

You can't say that Collins is bad just because they got beat by Highlands because no Kentucky team has beat Highlands since 2010.

You can judge/evaluate Collins based on the returning talent they have and the improvements they have made in a year.

Yeah I will probably win the lottery tonight also.

Owen County won't even be in the top ten in 2a.

Owen County is no SK and Collins can barely beat Owen. Good luck Collins.

Your right. Owen never has a big head. When Collins beat Simon Kenton I hope your understand. That not everything is as black and white as you make it seem.

Basically the same players back for Collins which is a good thing. They could have worked hard over off season to get stronger which is a good thing. The coaching staff could have made changes in off season which is a good thing. They have a couple of really good players (possible D1) which is a good thing. The problem I see is not enough good supporting cast to go around their good palyers and even if the players worked hard over the off season to get stronger and coaches made good changes, it would have to be huge improvements to get to the level of the top teams in 4A and I just do not think it is possible with what we saw last year. Wish them the best, but I just see average team that benefits from weak schedule and weak side of playoff bracket. They were runners ups last year, but I would rank them around 8th in 4A at the end of last year. Not putting Collins program down; I like the school and hope they continue to get better, I just do not think they are as good as a lot of people want to make them out to be.

How in the world does a team make it to the state championship game and get beat 47-0? IMO this proves that Collins and their schedule are very weak.

Maybe one day you will be able to type a sentence that everyone understands .

While neither a fan of Collins or SK, after reading this thread, I hope Collins beats SK just to shut up an obnoxious SK fan for at least a minute or two. I normally don't root against a team because of the team's fans, but I'll take exception here.

This happens way too much. The young men from SK work there tails off to become better football players and better people in there community. Only to have this person, who has absolutly ZERO ties to the program make the team and the community look stupid. Nobody else here in Independence shares the same narrow-minded, pompous-ass views. My son plays for SK and is a very quiet reserved young man. When he tells me he hates seeing this crap beeing posted and people disliking his teammates and him because of one person's misguided views, what do I tell him? I posted in the past on that "other" site, untill this same individual did his same tired act on there. I found this site by accident and have had a lot of fun here, met some neat people from all over our state. So UKFAN gets the boot from the "other" site and know he's here spewing his venom on here. B*LLSHIT!
