This has to be a big slap in the face for Doug Noble. John Collins has little to no basketball coaching in his background and Doug has been a head coach and has a Top 5 player in the 14th region for a son. Will this cause Wes to leave.

Looks as if Breathitt County still has political issues with the state running the show. Collins over Noble, get real. Noble would be a good fit at Scott County??

If Wes leaves I would be shocked if he went to PCC.

Letcher could be a wildcard in this one as he really likes football and has played three years in Holcombe's system. Would also be a great addition to the basketball team.

Wes won't be going anywhere.Collins will be coach in name only I believe.Just like when Denny was there;Noble still made the calls.

For one Doug was already head coach at breathitt once and was fired so why would you hire him again? And the second thing is Denny made all of the calls for breathitt. Doug coached the offense in practice but when it came to the game Denny called the shots

Definitely didn't see this coming, but it makes sense to me now. When Coach Collins came to Breathitt (two years ago I believe) he signed a two year contract with the school system for his position. Well, now with the state takeover they cut Coach Collins position to save money. Therefore if he wasn't able to land another job with the school system his family and him were going to move to another place(LCC), thus losing a great coach and three extremely talented sons...

He has a job with breathitt county board. By the way, hasn't stopped breathitt before from not hiring people with talented kids. And, not just in one sport. So, this hire makes no sense he is a football coach. It only makes sense if you don't care if the kids succeed or not.

A two year contract to be over in school suspension?? That's crazy. Contracts are year to year. His kids don't even play basketball. Where are you getting your information? Obviously someone that doesn't have a clue. So you are advocating just to hire people in coaching postions with no basketball knowledge at all???

It doesn't make sense to me either, I know he was an assistant the last year or so on the basketball team, but that's it. Like you say he is a football coach. But what I was told is the state terminated his position as the in school suspension teacher and therefore was jobless. Holcomb was going to try and get him on up at LCC if he was not able to get another job at Breathitt. The only thing I can figure out is they gave him the position to keep him and his sons at Breathitt. As for my source, I know its credible, you don't have to worry about that...

If your sources said two year contract they were wrong. And, if it was about keeping him and his sons at breathitt than they would rather take a chance on losing other kids that but the way are pretty talented.... I thought they were trying to get away from this type hiring??? But people
Say one thing and do another. Have you seen his kids play? Only one played last year right? I don't know I don't remember them. What sport does he kids play? Football?

I might have mis quoted for all I know about the two year contracts, whoop de fucking do. The main part that matters is that his position was terminated and his family and him were more than likely going to Letcher. That's what my source told me. His three sons play football, I'm not sure if they even play another sport. But it would have been a huge blow to the football team to lose the Collins bunch. So I figure he was hired as the coach to keep them around. Hell Doug will probably run the show if he is still around this upcoming year, even though on paper he isn't the "head" coach. Same thing as with Winnie Cox last year as the girls coach, he wasn't the head coach on paper, but he was the one running the show.

all he needed was a job to stay he had one..... *I guess people can justify anything if that want to just like you can also disagree. But, when you have other candidates that all of which had experience ALL and they hire the one that doesnt....sends red flags..... And by the way did your sources tell you he didn't even interview. So much for keeping everything legal in good ole breathitt
County. Everybody knows the real truth behind this hire and it wasn't to KEEP him or his kids in breathitt county it was just to make sure a certain coach didn't get hired. And, some of the parents think because thy are behind the scenes getting this done that no one knows about you....
