Preseason NKY top 10

UK1fan Wrote:Dixie returns alot of starters they wasa young team not expected to win anything. Alot of people was saying Conner would win state.

They were a huge disappointment whenever Zeke Pike was at the helm. I will be interested to see how they do now that they have had a full season with someone new.

Dixies qb Moore will have a great Junior year.

Camels are not looking for at NT, but at DE! The Pioneers, if they make the mistake of starting the Camel transfer, thus the Pioneers will need to look for a DE before the season is over due to the issues that follow! AR has used his uncles address, but has other off the field issues to deal with! As for the QB for the Camels, he just happened to be the best TE in 6A last year, Avery Wood, so he will not be a surprise to anyone! Wood was the best pure QB his freshman year, so, there are no issues with him this season!

Stardust Wrote:Campbell now has a QB that not only runs like Durham, but throws like Michael Kremer. Camels run the table again in District and will not have to rely on a QB that has to run the ball 50 times in order to have a running game. Defense will be the best they have had in many years. Camels will get thumped by the Birds in week 2, but showing that they are not afraid to put them on their schedule (like other 6A teams Wink ) will be the growing point that puts this team at the top of the heap in NKY 6A again!

Nice to see you back in the fray Star! Even if I don't agree with your post.
#35
SK returns its dline so I don't think the Camel transfer would even start.
#36
I am glad we finally got some football talk going on in here can't wait for the season to start.

If Wood is that good throwing AND running, he should have got the nod over Durham last year. Soon as Durham got shut down running the ball and had to throw it, CC was toast and there stadium was laid to rest. Loved watching Durham play the game, just don't see being a QB at the college level. Think he could be a good TE or DE at G-Town. Good luck with HHS, I don't make the schedules.

While Campbell is my dark horse this year, stating new qb can run like Durham and throw like Kramer is a huge stretch for a guy who hasn't played qb in a couple years. It would bring some excitement to the program if he could put up those kinds of stats......I wish him the best.

birdman44 Wrote:yeah i knew SK was returning a lot didnt know about the others. Can Cooper be as good as last year? i know they lost a lot.

who is the transfer from campbell?

Feel like Cooper could surprise a few people. It always helps to have a to have a great coaching staff and Aaron Morgan will be one of the best all around players in NKY.

Campbell County and SK should be at the top of the heap this season in 6A. Dixie will pull some upsets and could win 6-7 games, they could also win only 5. People forget about the numbers. Starting 3-5 kids both ways at the 6A level only gets you so far.

Depth should be an asset and isn't for a school that's right on the 5A-6A line. They don't have the depth and senior leadership CCHS and SK have. Success follows Lickert, he's honored a good template from his high school coach. The SK/CCHS game is going to be a good'in !

Next year is Dixies best oppty to challenge for a district title. As for the Highlands talk and questioning their success this year I would recommend moving away from the second hand smoke of Kentuckys #1 cash crop.

They simply reload, reload, and reload. CovCath may catch up with their incoming freshmen class when they are JUNIORS. Shelton and VonHandorf will lead the blue colonels into some great battles with the birds in 2-3 years.

I hope Barker doesn't get too banged up this year. And looking forward to seeing how Boones kids respond to the new leadership. If they buy in sooner rather than later they may shock a few folks this season.

Summer practices start next week. Let's have fun honoring these kids, their teams, and the folks that support them this year!

No chance that Football has EVER worked like that. Durham 6-4 240, Wood 5-11 190, and the fact that Durham was being showcased since D-1 teams actually had conversations with Lickert about him! Wood has been the best pure QB since his sophomore year, and Lickert would be the first to tell you that! Durham is a TE at G-Town!

The Camels will be a speed bump this year for the Pioneers.
#43
Holy Cross has under 40 players but Beal looks like a stud he put on 20 pounds he should have a great season.

Confusednicker: Nice UK1fan, way to incentivize the Camel bulletin board before the 1st summer practice.

You may be eating crow come season. You like that grilled or baked? :yum:

Now that is funny they should already be motivated when they got crushed in the playoffs. SK sacked Durham six times.

I won't be eating crow this season! But you will!

Same ole tired song and dance... Hate to see these kids get looked down upon because of this stuff. Glad the parents of theses players don't share the same sentiments. Campbell and Simon will lock up in a hard fought
game(s) again this year. In NKY 6A nothing is given, your gotta bust your but for every yard and every victory.

Wish Tyler nothing but the best. Think he will run over a few "victims" after he makes the catch in G-Town.

If Conner plugs their defensive holes, they could be a lot higher. Barker can't do it all by himself. Everybody in Ft. Thomas believes HHS will be better than X and T this year, but then again HHS is always a legend in the minds of everyone in Ft. Thomas! SK returns a great core and has some solid kids moving up. I can't put them ahead of CCH though because the depth just is not there. One or two significant injuries and SK's expectations would change drastically. I expect Boone to make a lot of big plays on offense, both for themselves and for the opposition. Dixie will score points, that is for sure. Hard to see how Ryle and CCHS will be competitive this year. BW attracts enough kids from their neighbors to be very competitive every year. This year they should be closer to the top. CCH/BW game this year should be competitive.

I like it Tous....however, I'd make one change, insert the Camels at 5 and kick the rest down a notch. Sorry Scott Eagles...although top 11 is better than top 20

I was told by a reliable source they return 40 plus seniors...The Pioneer-Camel game should be a knock down drag out. If schedule permits I'm there.

Your buds down at Holy Cross acquired another very good addition to the football team. I'll message you on that shortly.

Looking forward to opening weekend!!!

I heard Cooper is getting a highly recruited running back from out of state. He can't enroll till August 1st.

Ryles hopes and dreams depend on there QB this season Roleski (someone check my spelling) has had a ton of concussions between the last two years rumor is he's one away from the end of his career. I like the kid competing with him for the job big strong kid with an arm but seems like he has redzone trouble. I'd say expect a lot of sophomores and juniors to see majority of playing time this season. Building for next year. I'd expect between 4-6 wins with alot easier schedule than recent years (no colerain, no highlands)
