Great schedule for the Maroons this year IMO! The beginning of the season is going to be brutal but, I am very interested to see how they do through those first 3 games especially! Can't wait for the season to start!

I'm hearing good things about the Maroons, I expect them to win the district this season.
#4
Last year was a surprise that they did so good, IMO. This year, they're expected to be good and I have no doubt that they will be. I honestly will be surprised if its anyone besides Pulaski Co and Harlan Co playing for the Regional Championship again.

But by the same note, over the last several years, the years they were projected to be really good they were not and the years nothing much was expected they were very good. You just never know...but they have the talent to be really good again this year.

I expect the Maroons to have a great 2013 season.

Whitley should be better than PC, but that doesnt necessarily mean theyll beat PC just like last year.

Madison Southern should give PC a run in that district.

You mean Damien Harris should give Pulaski a run in the district.

Damien Harris is Madison Southern lol.

They are going to be good this year
#13
Everyone in the district might as well go ahead and get to used to hearing, "Hall to Helton for the Touchdown!"

Should be a very nice season for the Maroons. Most of the Pulaski faithful that I've talked to are excited. Their major area of concern is on the line of scrimmage, both offensive and defensive. That will be a huge key to their season and make the difference in a winning year and challenging for the region.
#15
I agree, Norm. The Maroons are loaded at the skill positions, the biggest question is the linemen.
#16
O-line makes you or breaks you.
#17
If the Tates Creek kid was really found ineligible, and cant play at Madison Southern, then that greatly helps PC's chances of winning district.

Maybe it's just me but, I don't think that the OL/DL will be that big of an issue. They lost three starters in T/G/NT Jacob Gross, C Isaiah Jasper, and DE Keenan Hall. Jacob and Isaiah will be the toughest to replace IMO because Isaiah started every game at Center last year and it's gonna be tough replacing Jacob because he was easily the biggest lineman the Maroons had. I don't want to leave out Kyle Varney either, he started a couple games on both sides of the ball at T and NT but, played most of his time on defense.

Returning will be Will Mobley who started every game at DE last year. The right side of the OL is returning as well in RT Tristan Tilley and RG Chase Willoughby. The LG position was shared last year by Jake Roberts and Hunter Merrick.

This is what I think both the starting Offensive and Defensive lines will look like.

O-Line:

LT Hunter Merrick(Jr)
LG Jake Roberts(So)
C Trent Fiene(Jr)
RG Chase Willoughby(Sr)
RT Tristian Tilley(Jr)

D-Line:

LE Will Mobley(Sr)
NT Patrick Stephens(Jr)
RE Wade Rutherford(Jr)

The biggest question mark is probably the RE position, there are several others that are in the mix for that position and Jake Roberts could definitely see some time on the D Line as well.

Just to add to that, the Maroons were the team champions at the Lynn Camp Powerlifting Championships. OT Tristan Tilley won the bench press event in his weight class, DE Will Mobley won the squat event in his weight class, and C Trent Fiene placed 2nd is the squat event for his weight class.

Was Harlan Co. at the Lynn Camp meet?

Not sure if they were or not but, I would assume that they were since it's only like an hour away.

I'm not saying Harlan Co. would of won it, but they have won the last 6 or 7 weight meets.

I think it was prom night. The day they had the meet.

Definitely would have made it a lot more competitive!

Harlan and PC should both be good, but lets face it, the 5-A champion will still have to go through Bowling Green, which lost 3 players last year.

Everyone in 5A is just playing for second.
And it looks like it could be that way for the foreseeable future.

There were only two teams at the weightlifting meet, Lynn Camp and Pulaski. Lynn Camp canceled and said it was only going to be Pulaski versus Lynn Camp meet. Pulaski was at the Laurel weight meet a few years and never came close to winning, I think they actually got last most years.

That's not true, I know for a fact that North Laurel was there.
