I really hate they are not going to be playing Williamsburg this year. That game has been going on for over 40 years I believe.

I wonder why. This has been such a good rivalry.

This has been a great rivalry over the years. Coach Donahue and the Dragon faithful are a class act. I hate that this game was not renewed.

To my understanding it wasn't Wburg's fault that its not continuing.
Herron was struggling to fill out the rest of his schedule.

2013 WYMT Pigskin Preview: Harlan Green Dragons
HARLAN, Ky (WYMT) - To say the Harlan Green Dragons lost a lot of players from last season would be an understatement.
The Green Dragons lost a total of 15 starters, and lost all starters in the skill positions.
"I don't know that you replace the schools all-time leading passer and school all-time leader reception leader, but I do think you can fill that void with what we have coming back and utilizing our strength and we do have good lineman coming back on both sides offense and defense," said Head Coach J.B. Donahue.
A strength for this Green Dragon team is their offensive line, they return 4 of their starters on the line, one of those Lineman Senior Stephen Jones,
"In inexperience we don't really suffer that much, we have a predominately experienced offensive line our back field is pretty experienced. Really looking forward to Tanner throwing the ball and running when he needs to run, and making plays just really looking forward to that."
"Glaring weakness is the lack of depth lowest number we've ever had. We've got 21-22 players. That's not many kids when you need 11 to play the spot obvious glaring weakness, not a lot of skill kids," added coach Donahue.
"It doesn't matter how many skill players we have or how little players we have on the team, we'll come out and play with however we can," said Senior Lineman Travis Laws
Senior Running Back and Linebacker Drew Middleton said they have a better attitude coming into this season, "We're just going to work hard, practice hard, hope for the best. Do better than we did last year. I don't want to lose."
The team kicks off their season in week 0 against the Leslie County Eagles.

Could be a long year but they have a veteran coach. So Harlan should be ok.

Harlan is suffering one of the ups and downs of 1A football. Sometimes the numbers and talent level is down. They have a great coach and will be play sound football.

The Haysi game should be interesting. Two very well coached football teams who are going to line up and split heads.
