I'm glad you took time to set this Dumb A_ _ straight. I just didn't feel like it. Every post has been a negative against McCreary Football or Former Staff or Players. Maybe he will move on and get on someone else. I agree Tyson will be successful. Talked to Coach Hood Thursday, when Tyson went through Orientation, he truly thinks he will be a huge asset to EKU before he Graduates. Tyson got his report date and a time to pick up equipment.

First off that is the list of signees for 2012, not 2013. Taylor Speaks from Somerset wasn't listed in that list either--yet he started all 11 games at longsnapper as a true freshman last season. That is a list from signing day--not all of the players that will be at EKU in the fall are on there. The roster isn't updated until the middle of training camp in August when they take the individual pictures. As the parent of a former Briar Jumper and current Colonel trust me when I say both Tevin Slaughter and Tyson Williams will be incoming freshman next season.

I think getting the word from a current player who knows the situation is a little bit better info than "I went to school there." If you were that up on EKU football I think you could tell the difference between the list of 2012 signees and 2013 signees. FCS schools are limited to 63 scholarships (which they can divide into partial scholarships unlike FBS schools) compared to the 85 that FBS schools can offer. They still have to have around 100 players on the overall roster in order to have proper practices etc. Not all of the players that they recruit are on football scholarships. If they qualify for need based scholarships several players are considered "counters". In other words they are receiving financial aid but not athletic scholarships. If a player falls into that category or if they are granted an academic scholarship they generally don't appear on the signee list. The schools can only comment on recruits once they have received a signed letter of intent from the player. If they aren't signing an athletic scholarship they don't appear on the press release. Since Tyson and Tevin are receiving aid other than athletic scholarships their first season they aren't in the press release. Taylor Speaks was on an academic scholarship last season so he didn't appear on the signee list either even though he started and played every game last season--same thing. I don't know what kind of an axe you have to grind with Tyson but your jealousy is as obvious as your ignorance on the subject.

Tyson and Tevin will both be there next year. Have no doubt about that, I spoke with Coach Hood personally yesterday. As a matter of fact he offered Kagen Skidmore of Somerset a full athletic scholarship after the down and dirty camp concluded yesterday, and we spoke for a long time about all of the Somerset players (Speaks, Slaughter, Williams and now possibly Skidmore) that will be in uniform for the colonels in the coming years.
