PADUCAH, KY - Longtime Paducah Sun sportswriter Joey Fosko passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning. We're told Fosko was out for a late walk with his girlfriend in Mayfield Sunday night, and afterward, suffered a massive heart attack.
Services are still to be determined. However, tentative plans are for Tuesday visitation and Wednesday funeral through Milner & Orr Funeral Home in Paducah.

So young to have this happen, didn't he beat cancer a few years back?
Prayers for his friends and family.

I'm shocked to hear this. I met Joey at the All A Classic in the early 1990s and we used to have lunch every year in Richmond and at the Sweet Sixteen. I remember I had to buy when Fulton County beat Harlan on a last-second shot in the 1993 semifinals since our regions were playing each other.
As a sports writing colleague for many years, Joey was one of the best people I ever met in the business. He was a great writer and friend.
