Let us get the facts right. The year before he arrived Bath Co. went 11-19 and was runner up in the district 2006-07.
He arrived the next season and went 20-5 and won the District. Then the next season he went 20-7 and won the District. The bottom line is he can coach.

So you don't think Hicks did a pretty good job at Bath Co.? He took a team that had not won a district tournament in 31 years and has back to back district championships. You are pretty hard to please Wildcat. If I didn't know better I would suspect you have a personal grievance with Coach Hicks.

Nope. You obviously did not read the first part. Never said he was a bad coach. Just did not personally care for the style of play on the offensive end. To one dimensional. He inteviewed to come back to Bath Co last season but put his name in the hat a little late and the committee decided on Coach Tiller. Had he come to the table early in the process he would be coaching the Wildcats in Red and White not Blue and White. With SV being close to his wife's family then he may decide to stay a while (More than 3 years). I wish him and his family the best of luck at SV. May be a good fit but time will tell.

Coach Hicks needs to realize that he is not his uncle. Many coaches do not respect his attitude. Win a region or state title and maybe more coaches will accept him.

If he is anything at all like his uncle he couldn't care less what the other coaches, media, etc. think of him. This, in my mind, is a good thing. His uncle cares about the kids and winning in that order.

I am anxious to see how the "new" Valley looks this year.

I heard the Silvers kid from Pikeville was transferring to Valley hair and all. His father is coming as recruiting coordinator. also Denny Paul may is coming as an assistant and bringing his son Blaine.

The rumor about Silvers appears to be true. Not sure this is a good thing for Valley.

If true, this would complete an interesting "trade" between the two rivals. With Zach Huffman apparently already transferred to Pikeville, each school will have added one and subtracted one player this off-season.

Not sure I would call this a trade. A trade involves exchanging equal values. SV got the short end of the stick in this deal.

Yea, not a good trade, the other piece of silver that comes with Steve is not a good gem or gym.....

Can't wait to see the Blue/White Armani Suits and Beret Hats at the Valley games!

Does the younger Kasongo still live with Silvers?

Give him 2 years at most.....

I heard there was another kid moved to the area and is going to school at Valley. Any truth that this kid is a baller?

Heard they been looking good this summer with the new coach, They are playing Knott Co Wed @ 11:00 am. not sure where at but should be a good one

From what I saw against Knott County, Valley could be the best team in the region at this point. The transfer point guard is a stud.
