Best atmosphere to watch a high school football game
#1
and this doesnt include best facilities! Its a tough choice between Ashland or Belfry for me
#2
Putnam Stadium in Ashland
#3
Any Boone/Conner game
Any Beechwood/NCC game

Location does not matter with either one.
#4
Ashland has a great Atmosphere !
#5
idk about watching, haven't did too much of that, but VIPPERMAN is by far the best atmosphere to play in, especially in a CLOSE game between the blackcats an pirates.
#6
i was lucky enough to get to witness a game I still consider the greatest game i have ever seen, the Belfry 20-14 win over Prestonsburg a couple of years ago, the atmosphere for that game was unmatched in any sport for any game i have ever seen. That was football at its best.

lynn camp has a good atmosphere during the regular season games but it is awsome during playoff games.

That was a great game. I have seen many at Belfry that have been great.

#10
Belfry WITHOUT A DOUBT!
#11
its like i said, you cant go wrong by going to a Belfry game or an Ashland game. Its money well spent.
#12
that's my job Wrote:lynn camp has a good atmosphere during the regular season games but it is awsome during playoff games.

LC does have a great atmosphere, but I liked the atmosphere at the old school better.

great game, just wish the outcome was a little differnt lol

well, Pburg proved their worth, they played as well as they possibly could have. Doug Howard said after the game that was the hardest hitting game he had ever been in. But it was a great game, nonetheless.

:Sad04: <----me thinking about Vipperman and all of the great games that I've been too over the years...

That was an awesome game and atmosphere.

Ashland
Belfry
Prestonsburg

By far the best atmosphere is Play off time...local teams clash in all out war for a shot at state gold
#18
Each of the teams mentioned have a great tradition and mystic(SP?) at game time! I really like the feeling walking into the old Vipperman stadium and Putnam stadium, you could feel the history of all their titles in the atmosphere! Chilling!

I hope that the posters on BGR make a trip into the Eagle's Nest and see the environment they are creating there! It is electric!! I know JC don't have the tradition the other teams have, but JC really knows how to put on a show.:Guitar01:

i would say johnson central...because if any of you went to the apple bowl you know what i am talkin about

I couldn't agree more! I could not believe how wild that night was! I haven't seen a playoff game with that much excitement! I have watched several playoff games, mostly of other teams than my eagles, but I hope we are changing that!

Howard field in Pikeville, Our student section is NUTS!!!!!! There worth the price of admission by themselves.
#22
The atmosphere at Johnson Central this past year was great. The Apple Bowl is always a exciting game to watch either at JC or at Paintsville. But I agree with who ever said the atmosphere was the best at a playoff game.

The Apple Bowl - Paintsville vs Johnson Central

VIPPERMAN STADIUM- R.I.P, was without a doubt the most exciting place in the state to play, an probably the most feared place for a visiting team to come play. I love the new CAM Stadium, but it will never be as great as The Vip...

There is something about people using tree stands to watch football games that scares me. I know Belfry has some great hunters in that area, just wonder if they are packing sometimes? LOLTongueirateSho

Vipperman was scientific marvel we could not have had rain in pike county in a month and that field could still be a swamp. I think maybe the reason why was that the VFD was right across the road from it if you know what I mean LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mop:
#27
That must be another thing Ashland and Belfry has in common! LOL!!:mop:
#28
i would have to say Belfry!

:yesno: This has been debated many times. I will tell you that I have seen them try to dry the field many times, but never saw then wet it down. Belfry is a great place to play football now and then.
