NCAA finds no violations committed at Duke
#2
Just like the meggete deal. No matter what happens K will never ever get in any hot water for anything.
#3
Would you expect anything else?? Coach k is the NCAA darling coach .
#4
Nothing will happen to Duke. The entire NCAA is Pukies.
#5
Even former Dukie Jay Bilas calls this hypocrisy.
#6
Color me shocked.

Do you really hold much stock in to was that bias fool has to say????
#8
I like Bilas. I think he is probably the most unbiased guys out there.
#9
It's about time the truth came out!
#10
LOL! I am sure Duke fans could care less what fans from one of the most scandal ridden college programs in the last hundred years think. Maybe Duke "gets by with it" because you have to be pretty smart to even be enrolled at that university.

Every school has scandals.

He is by far the most unbiased analyst out there. Who on earth do you consider unbiased?

For whatever reason, Duke and Coach K are above the NCAA and it's rules. If UK or any other school, with the possible exception of North Carolina, had been on the radar for some of the stuff that Duke has done, you would have seen suspensions and/or probations at the very least. They must feel bullet proof there, and they pretty much have every right to feel that way based on their track record of getting by with anything, from Corey Maggette to this most recent situation, Duke is coated with Teflon it would seem, everything just slides right off of them.
#14
maybe they were committed off campus... Wink
#15
this was a case where the ncaa did not have enough evidence to prove there was any wrong doing, mainly because Thomas and the jeweler didn't talk to the ncaa.
#16
What about the Mclemore case at Kansas.

The "cleanest" program in the country may get a wake up call.

I see what you're saying...
but some tax returns from him or his parents should have proven this one.

College kids simply don't drop five figures on jewelry with their student loan check.

So the NCAA just says "welp, I guess we can't do anything"????

Don't act like you don't know the NCAA would have jumped any other school that isn't named UNC. They would have forced one of the parties to talk or put the whammy down on that school. I guarantee you that.

If this were any other school the NCAA would have found violations.

Figures. Above the rules. I wonder why CAL is called a scumbag when this is twice Coach K has gotten away with the same thing.
#21
Will it justify UK's cheating over the last century? I don't think Duke has to touch anybody without a good ACT score. UK fans would love to "get something on Duke". Hard to believe it can be done the right way. But coaches have figured it out...do it Cal's way..Just say "but I didn't know."

Do you have any idea who Corey Magette is?

Isn't that the guy that took Derrick Rose's ACT for him?

^
We cant be held responsbile for the antics of Memphis University.

This is UK. The land of the free. The land of the clean.
#25
I for one thing that this is only one of a few cases that come to the publica attention! So much with recruiting is kept under the table now days. And no Before anybody says it I'm not only meaning Cal here. NCAA basketball as a whole. Extra benefits are giving to athletes. But its is kinda funny that the "top schools" always get by with it
#26
Why do we always have to talk smack about Duke?
I just don't understand. I don't like them but.....

THEY HAVE GOOD TALENT ALMOST EVERY YEAR PEOPLE!
Get over it!

And let's be real.. Cal doesn't bring in the best talent every year by his people skills or his charm. He jerks out that wallet.

What's your point? So they shouldn't be punished?

Stardust said it once I believe...
All of these big college coaches cheat..
Cheat, but cheat good... Don't get caught..

So no, I don't think it's a big deal.
We get our 5 star recruits somehow.. They should get theirs too.
#30
UK's not in trouble are we?
I think that should be our may concern honestly..
Not what Duke is doing.
