Sheldon Clark job
#1
Who will be the Coach?
#2
This job kept very quiet. Anyone close to program have any thoughts or heard any rumors?
#3
I think they have several talented players and a pretty good group of eighth graders coming up someone will be taking over a pretty good team. Hopefully they find someone who has and school an community's best interest at heart and who will continue to improve the program and wants to win. I don't know what everyone else in the region has comig back but I think the current team could win the 15th region. The girls on the team have been there before and done it, now its their turn to lead the charge instead of being role players. I really like this team.

I know of a three candidates for this job. Current asst coach, former U Pike Coach and a current 11th Region Coach.
#5
A good source has told me that Bill Watson has not applied and that the hiring is now underway.
#6
I know of a coach that is applying from central Kentucky. His step daugther is a pretty good player.

Current 12th region coach is top on the list is the info I am recieving from some people around the SC program? Hiring process has begun is what I am being told.
#8
Have heard a few names from around the Lexington area have applied
#9
Why all the interest from "central Ky" and the "11th region"?
#10
The tradition of the SC program is what is drawing the interest from some of the people that have applied and I am sure that the person that does get the job will be a high quality coach that runs a class program.
#11
Any news? I heard interviews started yesterday.
#12
The coach I heard about is from the fifth region. He wants to get closer to his family. I beleive his wife is fom Phelps and has a daughter that played for Pike Central.
#13
No interviews have been conducted and won't be for a couple more weeks. From what I understand there are 12 applicants thus far and more is coming in so I really don't expect a coach to be hired until at least June 1 or later.
#14
Any news on this job? I am surprised they would wait that long to interview and name a coach. Summer ball starts up June 1st. When is the last day of school in Martin county? Seems like they would want a coach in place before last day of school so it would be easier to meet with the team and plan for summer. Anyone heard of applicants names or how many will be interviewed?
#15
Interviews start Monday.
#16
Does anyone know who will be interviewed? How many are they going to interview?
#17
Three were interviewed Thursday and more are scheduled for next week but its being kept tight lipped who was interviewed and who has applied so having someone in place by June 1 may not happen.

Any news on this hire?
#19
Have all the interviews been conducted?
#20
Nothing is confirmed but I think they got a pretty good coach.
#21
Is the coach from Kentucky or West Virginia?
#22
Who do you guys believe it is going to be?
#23
Tim Rice

What makes you think that?
Where is he from?
#25
Tim Rice currently coaches the girls at Southwestern. Before that he was the womens coach at Alice Lloyd. He also spent years in the Betsy Layne boys program. I hope he gets the job.
#26
It sounds to me like he has the experience.
When will they decide?
#27
If anything....he can always teach them how to play poker.

Wow great poker player too
If they hire him, then they will have it all
#29
Coach Rice would be an asset to any program! He's a proven winner and a great guy! I really hope SC hires him and brings him back to the mountains!!
