Ryan Ludwig out.

Reds lose left fielder Ryan Ludwig with a serperated shoulder.. Will need surgery this could hurt them in the long haul..
Maybe they can sign Scott Roland and let him play third and mover Todd Frazier to left that might be the answer but who knows..

Actually not a bad idea there. Rolen was solid, just getting up there & his age was catching up with him as well as Frazier proving himself. I got a pretty good idea myself, how about call up Billy Hamilton train him to play centerfield & play Choo in left while Ludwig is out. Choo looked rough on that deep fly ball to center, & I'm not sure he's the answer there. I'd imagine with Hamilton's athletic ability & speed he could learn pretty quick. We could use his speed on the base paths & with Phillips locked in at second for the next decade or so, we really need to move his position now.

Rolen is done.

They'll probably call up either Derrick Robison or Denis Phipps.

Jack Hanahan might play some 3rd, while Frazier plays left.

But Heisey will get majority of the playing time.

Calling up Hamilton is not a good idea yet, he really struggled at the plate in spring training way too many strikeouts. He still needs time learn how major league pitchers pitch, he just needs some time in aaa ball to get ready. If you bring him up too soon it could really hurt him in the long run.

J-Rod has a pretty good idea too either way they go I hope it works out.

Not to bring this back up, but apparently my idea wasn't so bad. Hamilton got his first career start tonight in the Majors & in center field. 3-3 from the plate with 4 stolen bases, the first time that's occurred since 1920.
