Bulldogs are off to a good start at 6-0 at home tonight against Magoffin County weather permitting. Who do you think wins?

âRelax, all right? Donât try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, theyâre fascist. Throw some ground balls â itâs more democratic.â

same thing said last year. lawrence swept magoffin easily in 3 games. faced Howard and Blanton in 2 of those games. chased blanton out early if i'm not mistaken. he throws hard for a high schooler. but not that hard. upper 70's and maybe tops out at 82 mph. someone posted on here last year that he was upper 80's last year. :biglmao:

Blanton is throwing low 80 now when weather warms he increase to mid to upper 80. As far as game with Magoffin it appears Lc has same problem Magoffin does trouble scoring. So I would expect close games

Yeah they played tonight in Louisa. Bulldogs won 4-0. Wallen pitched for the Bulldogs and went six innings striking out 14 with 3 hits surrendered and 0 walks. Blanton pitched for the Hornets and did good but got into a few jams and was relieved by Howard. Bulldogs were led by Clark Rice who was 3-4 with a double and RBI. Adam Cavins also had a clutch 2 out RBI double.

Sounds like a good game. Blanton is a good pitcher, when he is on, he's on. But, when he or Howard loose the strike zone. Forget it. Is Whitaker throwing any for MC?

good game. tough watching it as you are running back and forth to the vehicle to warm up.

lawrence's senior catcher Clark Rice also had a great game. going 3-4. hit a ball that was crushed, but these bats stink or it was a HR. Blanton as well crushed a ball in the 2nd that is a no doubt HR to left field with the old bats.

Both starting pitchers had good velocity, I think Joe Wallen for LC had more movement and better location with his pitches. Wasn't it Blanton that hit that bomb also? It was a shot to left field that hit off the wall. That was a huge error in the 5th on the right fielder, he had to run just a little bit but dropped the ball. Are they playing tonight?

^all above fair account of game. I was impressed with Wallen kid from LC good velocity and control. Eliminate costly error LC probably wins 1 to 0. Was good competitive game, if MC don't put ball in play more this may be trend for season

It could have been 1-0 if that kid caught the ball or it could have been easily 7 or 8-0, the Bulldogs had bases loaded with 0 outs and didn't get a run across the board. Magoffin struggled offensively, howard and Blanton both are too good athletes. Lawrence County's Noah Lambert I think it was executed a beautiful suicide squeeze to second base where the second baseman wasn't there because he was covering the base. Did anyone else think that the home plate umpire was inconsistent?

Yes umpire was all over the place. Would not give low strikes, then calls curve ball in dirt for strike three on hitter, then calls several at the neck. This was bad on two pitchers who were throwing very well hitting their spots, and made it hard on hitters to know the strike zone. I agree was a very nice bunt.

suicide squeeze to 2nd base? first i've ever heard of that. :biglmao: it was like a hit and run except it was using a bunt. that was my take on it. suicide squeezes are bunts with runner coming from 3B.

I thought there was a runner at 1st and 3rd, or was it 1st and 2nd? Either way it was a nice call, and executed well.
