Snow Bowl
#1
I have no memory of a snow football game in Kentucky HS Football.
Anyone have any good stories?

Belfry @ Lloyd Memorial, 2003 2A State Semi-final.

It was in the mid 20's, snowing (snow on ground too), and the wind was gusting. Nasty weather, but the result was worth it.

I remember when I was in high school, I had to walk 3 miles in 12 inches of snow to get to the stadium for the game. It came down to a last second field goal to go to the state finals and I was the kicker. They brought the snow blower out so that I had a place to kick. AND I MISSED!!

My oldest son was a freshman starter for Rockcastle in 2008. It had snowed on Log Mountain in Bell Co. and Rockcastle had to go up there in the second round. The field was covered in some snow, but, mostly ice. I used a cow bell to scrape the aluminum bench seat where we sat and we placed a blanket down. Bell Co. had shoveled off the lines on the field so you had an idea where they were and the ice cut a bunch of places on the boys legs and arms during the game. By the end of the game it was 17 degrees. Everytime I wanted to get a drink out of my water bottle, I had to squeeze it in my hand to break the newly formed ice in the top of it.

2002 State title game, Mayfield defeated Beechwood 14-7. While it didn't snow much durning the game it had the night before and Cardinal Stadium used somthing to remove the snow from the turf. It was piled up out of bounds. The game only saw a few flurries
