Perry Co Central's Justin Johnson
#31
Diva Dog,
Now what kind of shape would basketball be in without Big Dizel Chris Hudson? Im sure you wished he'd stayed at Cordia right?

zaga_fan Wrote:According to sources: Johnson lives in Narnia and the closet that he pops out of to go in between worlds is in Perry Central's gym under the bleachers.

Sounds Like WYMT Sources to me Smile

decent dunk. like someone said earlier, he is 6'6. should be able to put his arm in the rim. everyone acts like they havent seen a dunk before. turn on any nba game or college, they get all kinds of dunks.
#34
^ This is a junior in high school not college which is why its so impressive

Don't get the fascination with the dunk. How many has the kid dunked
insode in traffic? I'd wager next to none. How many will he dunk inside in traffic
in college, almost certainly none. That's the only time it mens anything
since it almost prohibits a black. Other than that it's just a layup by a
guy who's tall, and involves no skill.

Haven't had a chance to see this kid more than twice in 14th region
action this season, and while he's a good strong player for the area,
he doesn't seem to take charge inside like he could/should, at least
not for sustained periods of time. Frankly he's got a ways to go to
be able to play effectively at the OVC level.

That's funny.

But since you've only seen him twice I will leave it at that.
There's no one more dominant in the paint than he is and he shares the paint with someone of the same size.

^ For one I've seen him dunk in traffic plenty, he even dunked on Dalton Cornett last year and considering his age he will only get better and stronger

I was at this game and if I remember correctly he had two dunks like this right over Dalton. And to the guy who said he had never saw Johnson dunk in traffic I have been to almost all PCC games and the dunking in traffic is a regular occurence. They played Lafayette in the Toyota Classic at Scott County and they [Lafayette] had perhaps the biggest team in the state and Johnson had 6 dunks. He is A special player.

Peace be among us.

The other dunk was in the paint, but no one was really close enough to contest it.
He flashed to the post and jammed it with no one else around.

I know because I just looked at it while I was looking for that one lol

Zaga anyway you can get video of the dunks at Scott County they are supposedly on you tube some of them were awesome as well. He went wild down there and some Scott County fans said he was the best they had seen this year in their gym. I was told this myself by some Scott County fans who were asking about him regarding what class he was in etc.

I couldn't find them anywhere.
We've got enough slams on here to keep everyone happy for a while. I'll make sure to get any big ones from Friday up.

Mr. Friday Nights Wrote:I agree. Very impressive. I have seen 2 in my time watching high school basketball. Tim Couch got one his junior season and Craig Ratliff from Paintsville got one in what I think was his junior season as well. Darn good company to add Johnson to in my book.

A lot of people forget about how great of a basketball player Tim Couch was.

If not for a bum ankle he probably would have been the state's first Mr. Football and Mr. Basketball.

Apparently you're not very "observant", but hate on, hater, hate on.

I agree traffic don't stop this kid. He loves traffic.

No.3 got skills.

divadawg Wrote:It is my opinion that Justin should still be dunking balls at Sheldon Clark instead of Perry Central. According to sources, he commutes from there every day with his illustrious coach and his family has not relocated or found employment in this area, all of which should have happened before KHSAA allowed him to be able to play. He is very talented and I hope he sets his goals high and reaches them...but he should be going by the rules, not by the highway like he supposedly is!

Divadawg, your sources are mistaken

Everyone knows I am a die hard bulldog,, but I have gotten to know a lot of kids from other schools over the years, I have gotten to know Justin.

Great kid, hard worker, with a lot of god given talent,, I know exactly where he lives, he does not commute back and forth,, now Coach Spurlock does drive back and forth from Johnson County.

Love watching this kind if ball.

Lol just because he is 6'6 that does
Mean that he should dunk it anyway
He wants lol and this is not the nba or college
It is eastern ky basketball it's not every
Night you go to a game and get to see dunks
I don't know about you I rather pay 5 dollars to
See a kid do some good dunks in person in highschool
Than watch the pros do it on tv.... So to most of us it's exciting
Give the credit moments like this is what people talk about years from now
#54
Nice dunk...dumb decision to pull this out in a 4-5 point game with so much significance.
#55
If you are that tall you should absolutely be able to dunk with ease. With that said he can throw down some nice ones
#56
Not all 6'6" people can do a 360
I would wager the minority of them can
#57
Dont know the kid personally but on any D1 level he has alot of work to do on his game there are kids on the end of benches on that level that can get up!! He is a beast tho but needs work on his jumper. And you can see the pcc lafayette game on ihigh should be in the archived games he had 4 or 5 dunks in the first half.

Real impressive watching him loaf around and just watch the guy from Lafayette dunk 4 times in the 2nd part of this youtube all in the same game???

I don't see how it was a dumb decision, he had 2 teammates right behind him with no Powell players around
