Still, ends a long streak of district championships and regional appearances for the Royals. First time a team inside the county (includes St Patrick, old Maysville HS, and all the county schools that consolidated wont be in the regional tournament since 1955.

I knew it had been a long time since something like this happened to Mason County. But Augusta was 13-5 in the region this season.

Congrats to Augusta on their big win! I believe that this is the first time that Augusta has ever beaten Mason County.

Augusta was way overdue congradulations. This hurts Mason County I know but they will rebound.

This is more about Augusta having possibly their best team in memory than it is about Mason Co being "down." They arent at the level of when they had Lofton or Miller, but they weren't terrible, either.
