If you think about it it's not that hard. Who said they was committing to a school that was considering Kentucky before NSD?

4*DT & LSU commit Tevin Lawson is visiting Kentucky this weekend and his mother is likely to make the trip with him. The trip has been moved up to an earlier date than we originally thought it would be. Distance is definitely a factor for mom so it will be essential for the coaches to be prepared to answer those questions and put her at ease. That will be the biggest sticking point to overcome. Fortunately for UK, there isn't as much competition as there otherwise would be, because it's late and schools are filling up. He could visit either TCU or Oklahoma State after UK, or perhaps even both of them.
Right now the big decision is to stay at home and play for a smaller school or give a place like UK a chance and go SEC right away.

Things seem to be getting very interesting as we get closer and closer to NSD. I am hearing several different things. If anyone else has more solid evidence, please share but, I will share what I have heard.
From what I have gathered. We are a lock to get Timmons which, I believe he is set to announce tomorrow at 1 p.m.
I am not sure how much credibility there is to this but, I have heard that Hatcher is more than likely going to commit to Kentucky and is bringing someone with him. Now it was not said who that was but, one can only assume that it is James Quick because Dawkins has not been offered by UK as far as I know.
In addition to the above information, as previously mentioned, Tevin Lawson will be visiting the weekend after NSD and all reports are stating that we have a VERY good chance at landing him because he wants to play in the SEC and it seems that most other SEC schools already have their rosters set for this recruiting class.
Definitely going to be a very interesting and exciting 48 hours!

So are u implying that Quick may flip from Louisville? If we get Timmons, Hatcher & Quick will we have a top 25 recruiting class?

Yes but, I definitely wouldn't say that it is a sure thing because it is something that I heard through the grapevine so if it is true, I am sure that more will unfold the closer to NSD we get.

Honestly, i'm not sure getting quick is an option as he seems happily commited to the Cards, but weird things happen around signing day time. In saying that, i would really be a happy camper to see that happen.

No way Quick flips and comes to UK. I would be completely surprised. I'm all for it though, lol!

Can't really see quick flipping but if he does OH HELL YEA!!!

Read on Twitter that Hatcher was going to commit to the school that gets him the most followers, then he also said that he wants 10k followers. So lets just hope its just a sales pitch to go followers. But if he's actually going to choice his school by the amount of followers from that school, all I can say is....REALLY.....SERIOUSLY:lame::HitWall:

Former UK target & who was believed to be a UK lean, David Maka has committed to Arizona. I think he had desires to play DT but UK wanted him at center. Things starting to take shape. If we can pull Timmons & Hatcher, I'll be elated. Last week I was thinking maybe we didn't have enough scholarships for all the guys wanting to come, now I'm thinking we may be waiting for guys like Aregeros Turner, Hearns & Lawson to get things lined out to complete our class.

I can't see him flipping either but, I was just relaying the messaging that if Hatcher commits to Kentucky he would be bringing someone with him. Don't know who it would be or if it will happen but, it definitely makes things interesting.

Four-star DT Lawson planning Kentucky visit
Justin Rowland

Kentucky is putting the finishing touches on its football recruiting class, and the staff is going to continue to work on the Class of 2013 even beyond National Signing Day.
Tevin Lawson is a soft LSU commit who will be at Kentucky this weekend. The reason for the trip is simple: Lawson is exploring other options after the LSU coaches told the defensive tackle they want him to greyshirt.
That was a bombshell and came as a huge surprise to the four-star defensive tackle.
"He's supposed to be flying in (to Kentucky) on Friday," said Denham Springs (La.) coach Dru Nettles. "That's an official visit. I guess he moved it up and he's thinking about taking some other visits. There may be another visit between TCU or Oklahoma State. Maybe even both. We've got to talk about what the next couple of weeks are going to look like."
Lawson could even opt to play for a school closer to home, such as Southern Miss, Lafayette or Louisiana Tech.
Recently Lawson, the nation's No. 21 defensive tackle, visited Lafayette to explore that option. It could be an attractive destination because according to reports that Nettles confirmed, Lawson's mother would like to see her son close to home.
That said, Lawson's mother is likely to make the trip to Kentucky with him this weekend.
"She's going to try to make it," Nettles said. "I think (distance) is an issue but that's for them to figure out. I don't think the kid is so much worried about it. It would be perfect to be at LSU distance-wise but I guess she's going to find out when she goes what she thinks about it."
Nettles has explained Lawson's academic situation in the past and is confident that his senior lineman is on track to qualify without a problem.
Sources have told Cats Illustrated that bolstering the quality and depth of the defensive line is one of the top priorities of the Kentucky staff, if not the top priority.
First-year Kentucky coach Mark Stoops and defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot relied upon a dominant defensive line at Florida State over the past couple of years and would like to have as many big, athletic bodies on the front four as they can find.
