Anyone know when the drawing is or is it a seeded district? If it's a draw district when is the drawing?

It's a seed district and we already know that it will be Breathitt and Wolfe in the Championship with Breathitt winning it. Always the same results every season. Jackson City needs to start recruiting players so they can change things up in this district!

Thought they would be bringing everyone back and improve on their record from last year. Guess I was wrong. But they could always go get some Canadians, they're a hot commodity this year.

Riverside and Jackson City would be crazy to agree to a seeded district. A draw is Riverside's only hope of making it to the region. They haven't won a district game in a hundred years. Almost as hard for Jackson City to get there as well.

This hasn't always been a draw district has it?
In the 7 years since the district realignment, not counting this season. There have only been 2 years that it didn't have Wolfe vs Breathitt in the District Championship game. Those 2 years were 2006 with Jackson City winning the District Championship and 2008 with Jackson City only losing the District Championship by 1 point. Unless this is a big coincidence, it was a seeded district before.

I would've thought it was a seeded district too until I pulled that file from the KHSAA.

I looked at that document after making my previous post and I am just about positive that it was a seeded district before 2011 but, maybe someone more invloved in the 55th District could shed some light on this.

I know in the early 90's it was a draw. And I think it always has been.

Breathitt Co. & Wolfe Co. Championship again! How many years now have they played for the Championship? Has it been every year since Wolfe Co. made the jump to the 55th???

The last team not named Wolfe or Breathitt to make the 55th District finals was Jackson City in 2008. Wolfe lost to Breathitt in the first round that year. Other than that, they have been in the finals since they came to the 55th.

Just a little info that many won't talk about much. Jackson beat Breathitt's JV a few weeks ago playing mostly 8th graders and Freshman against many BHS Juniors and Sophs. So there is some recruiting going on now but it's not by JHS. Also Jackson Middle beat Breathitt's middle by 35+ this season and didn't even play hard or press much beyond the 1st quarter. Starters sat much of the game. If I'm not mistaken, Jackson also beat Wolfe's JV by 20+ last time and beat them by about the same in a freshman game. So God willing and things go well with the school, you're gonna see a major shakeup in the 55th.

It has been all but 2 years. Jackson City beat Wolfe Co by 2 to win the 55th District Championship in 2006 and Jackson City also made it to the Championship game in 2008 but, lost by 1 point to Breathitt Co.
