Owsley County 57 - Estill County 51
#1
Final from Booneville

Great job tonight Owls! You played strong and smart. Even when you were down you didn't give up. Props to you guys!

Big win for the Owls. 3 way tie for the district with Owsley, Lee, and Estill all having identical 4-2 records, and each have split games with one another this season. A blind draw will determine the top seed down to the 3rd seed. Powell is already the 4th seed.

Congrats to the Owls. Very good comeback win.

Meeting will be Monday at 10 AM. 3 team names (Estill, Lee, Owsley) will be put in a hat/bowl, whoever is drawn out first will be 1 Seed.

Great win for a Owsley program that has been down since 2010 season when they won the district!!!
#8
Owsley was the tougher team tonight. Will be a great district.
#9
What lost this game for Estill was when they took Morris out in the 4th quarter after a turnover. Estill then had nobody who could guard Allen in the post. Don't know why that decision was made but it sure did flip the 56th district upside down. 3 way tie....Wow

I didn't understand that either Mountian Man. But I was told from several people near the scorers table that he should have been t-ed up for some of the things he was saying, most about his own team. All great rifts begin from within. Probably good coaching from Estill.

Izaiah Allen is playing great in the post!

How many rebounds did he have???

Owsley County's season lies within this kid. I watched the Owsley Powell game, he sit the third quarter. When he got back in the 4th he erased a double digit deficit and made the buzzer beater to send the game to OT. This kid can play.
#13
I think Joey Grove has to show up too!!!
If they have any chance coming out of the 56th District!!!
#14
I thought the refs were very very layed back. Could have been technicals called on both teams.

Now if you wanna play that little game then couple players from Owsley should have been T'd up. Shelby who was cussing at the ref but when the ref turned and looked at him he calmed down, or that other Owsley kid that kept slamming the ball down and kicking it.

I heard some very rude comments made in the game and after the game by Morris. So Strikeout King don't start that game
#17
Good win for the Owls! Can't wait to see how the drawing goes on Monday!

LOSERS QUIT WHEN THEY'RE TIRED, WINNERS QUIT WHEN THEY HAVE WON

Strikeout King I only meant that I respected Estill County's coach. Nobody is playing a game other than trying to figure out why Morris was taken out in the 4th quarter which may have cost Estill the game. From the comments I have heard he was waaaay out of line.
#19
I think he took Morris out because he had several turnovers back to back

So did Shelby from Owsley

Morris was trying to be intimating. I just want to know why Morris was sitting the 4th I don't think he had foul trouble or maybe it was his amazing passes to nobody.

turnovers is why he was taken out.

This ended up being a crusial game in the 56th District!
With Owsley's victory over Estill and the luck of the draw!
They jump three spots and claim the #1 seed in the 56th District Tournament!!!
#24
Turnovers or not he should've been in the game. As soon as Morris goes to the Bench Allen took over. Estill had NOBODY besides Morris who could guard him.
#25
Can anyone in the 56th district really guard Allen?
#26
^^^ YES. Morris and Evans.
#27
Morris maybe! Evans doubt it!!!
#28
Lets not overhype him to much. Hes very guardable. Only goes left...
#29
Allen can be stopped by both Morris and Evans. All three players are fairly even with each other. Allen is deff not the "deffinition of unstoppable" he can be stopped. Districts is going to be a close one this year, all four teams capable of winning it. Can't wait to see what all goes down!
#30
Im not saying he is unstoppable! My question is can anyone hold him to single digit scoring???
