Who will win your Region?
#31
Yea, I won't get carried away and say nobody in the 13th can hang with Clay County. To begin though, that Knox loss was super early and we shot 6-22 from the free throw line. That's not going to happen very often so no worries there. It is a two team race with the Tigers and Black Bears. There is no doubt in my mind that Clay County is the better team (Harlan County caught Clay County in the WYMT after a gut wrenching loss to Perry Central). However, the region is played at Harlan County and that will be the only factor going against the Tigers.

Yep and that is the reason the Black Bears are headed to Rupp Arena along with the Knott Central Patriots and the, oh yeah, who the hell knows in the 15th region.

For the sake of the Tigers I hope not but we'll see I guess.

Bullitt East is still a favorite to win the 6th, but things could be a little more difficult with the loss of starting combo guard Hunter Noffsinger. Not a great scorer but will be missed relieving Rakes of some ball handling duties against pressure. Hard to believe a kid would walk away from a starting position on a state contender. Thought he was fitting in well. Thought wrong!

I like Perry Central in the 14th..
But not the Perry Central I seen vs. Scott

I do think the 14th has some of the best in the state.
But Trinity, Henry Clay, Montgomery Co., and Madison are on another level.
I think Bullitt East is good too. But Willis seems very immature.

Derek Willis has not done himself a lot of favors over his 2 1/2 seasons at BE in the PR department, but since his ejection during the Lafayette game he has pretty much been a model citizen on the court. I have not seen the last couple of games. Just curious as to what you've seen out of Willis recently that seemed immature.

Clay's 2nd best player didn't play against Harlan and their best player was throwing up the whole Knox game. Regardless the 13th will be a war. No team has really took that extra step. It will be Harlan and Clay in my opinion but we'll have to wait and see.

I believe Perry will win the 14th.If not it will be June Buc/east ridge hindman campus, otherwise known as Knott Central, Just my opinion

it's not that their schedule isn't strong, but they didn't challenge themselves as much as they have in years past.

Do you mean the Sheldon Clark-Hazard campus(formerly New York -Hazard campus). It will be tough for them to get out of the district as they place crosstown rival Leslie, Knott, Texas, - Hazard campus. The darkhorse contender will be the Canadian All star team, formerly known as Cordia High School.

BGR etiquette:
You have to have more than one player from another schools feeder program each year to qualify for one of those nicknames.

However: Due to Perry's ability to mix it up every year they have been dubbed Perry Community College

BC had to change lineup after a injury, wouldn't count them out in 16th, aggressive and fast has kept a bunch of teams on their heels lately.

As I recall during the WYMT in which Harlan County won over Clay County, Harlan County did not play their best game and still managed to win. I hadn't seen Clay County this year so I can't really say if they played their best game or not but Harlan County will be ready during the regional tournament!!

Another rule...
you have to actually win a regional title in the current century before you get a nickname.

The 16th will be Fleming or Russell. Boyd County could be the dark horse.

Clay county will take the 13th Region!

He got a technical in the Pulaski game.
You can tell he likes to talk a lot of smack to the other team.
Good player, just got some growing up to do.

Didn't know about the technical against Pulaski. :thanks:

Just to be clear it was a double technical with the other one on a Pulaski player. They were grabbing his jersey the entire game

5th--John Hardin
6th--Bullitt East
7th--Trinity
8th--M.L Collins
9th--New. Cent. Cath.
10th--Montgomery
11th--Madison Central, probably, or maybe Henry Clay or maybe 1 of 5 other schools.

Technical is a technical.

Well lets be honest. His elbows were thrown several times as well. He initiated a ton of that contact. A little jersey grabbing, play on.

Knott should win the 14th without a problem. If they don't they should problem with someone.

I guess if PCC/Sheldon Clark dont win the 14th region it will be Cordia or KCC. Just maybe Hazard can pull another Buckhorn from last year.

Since they've not lost to anyone in the 14th yet this year or anything...

Once to Perry at home...we will know more Thursday and after Perry and Cordia play. Do I think Knott will walk through the region? Of course not, but for some reason I don't even think Perry will be in the region..again.
