The game started at 1030 am. Anyone have a score or updates?

This is not official but heard Scott Co won by 22 points like 70 something to 50 something. If that is the score its a disgusting loss because that is the weakest Scott Co team I have ever seen. They have two scores and a bunch of role players. My congrats to Billy Hicks he is without a doubt one of the best coaches in the state. I have'nt heard specifics but it looks like Spurlock got took to the woodshed. I have seen Scott Co play multiple times and they nothing more than pressure defense and extremly well coached, no size and not that athletic.

Scott Co. may be weak for Scott Co., but I would take Coach Hicks's talent at Scott Co. every year over any mountain school.

Scott County won 75-56 after leading by 7 or 8 at the half I believe. After struggling the last 2 weeks or so Richardson and Gilbert are starting to get it going again.
Scott County obviously doesn't have all the star power that you would normally expect to see them have, but it is unbelievable how well Coach Hicks' teams can play team defense. Not just this years team, but all through his career. PC's two big men inside had a clear advantage over SC's front court but they more than held their own. I believe I saw Justin Johnson finished with 20 points or so, but he had to work his tail off for every bucket he had. Also, Braxton Beverly will be a stud hoss PG when it is all said and done. It is amazing how talented, tough and alert he is on the floor regardless of class, let alone for a freshmen.

Perry can not put 3 games togather consistanly so if you guy think their going to win the regional tournament they better start playing better and find more than 3 kids that can score Beverly,Johnson,Cornett. They had a ton of turnovers and missed a bunch of freethrows. No playing togatherness and they got to find another scorer period or they cant win the region.

Scott County's talent this year is very ordinary. They are the most unathletic team Scott County has had in several years. They do however play very hard and they do have two good outside shooters. There are several mountain teams that would match up well with Scott County very favorably this year. It was amazing to watch SC beat Henry Clay last week. Henry Clay was bigger faster and more athletic at every position.

If that final is true, that's a surprise.

Im a cordia fan, so I have no bias, but I believe the commodores play better when one of the big guys is in foul trouble. Maybe try them in high post setting and have johnson at high post since he is better shooter. If shot isnt there throw over top of defense to cornett. Just sayin

I agree with you on everything you said the ace in the whole for Scott Co is Billy Hicks. For them to even have a chance against HC speaks volumes for what that man can do. For me losing to Scott Co on their homecourt is not the end of the world its just the margen that disturbs me.

75-56 Scott County

I think it is also important to remember that Scott County beat Perry County Central 56-48, only by 8 points, in their second game of the year with Justin Johnson ineligible at the time. I am not suggesting PCC is 11 points worse off with Johnson in the line-up, but it only shows how Coach Hicks can flat out coach and execute his game plan while taking opponents out of theirs.

Coach Hicks is no doubt a good coach, but he has so many advantages over anybody else in the state. Scott Co should have at least 3 high schools in it. Whenever you have 8 yes 8 middle schools feeding one high school your going to get results like he has. You have the biggest company in the state in your backyard to DRAW (:eyeroll people to your school. The sad thing is it hurts all the kids who have no shot of playing high school basketball who would be good players at many other schools in the state.

Scott County actually has only three middle schools. Georgetown Middle, Scott County Middle and Royal Spring Middle. Scott County is one of the larger high schools in Kentucky. However Dunbar, Lafayette, Henry Clay, Tates Creek and Henderson County are about the same size. Trinity and St X, being all male, have far more boy students than Scott County. I'm sure there are others. As far as the DRAW (:eyeroll) Scott County has had only one player in the last years who's parents moved to town to work for Toyota.

that should have been 1 player in the last 15 years.

As rojas said above, there are only 3 middle schools in the Scott County district. Where in the world did the number of 8 middle schools come from?
People can talk about all the "advantages" that Coach Hicks has at SC with the size of the school and Toyota and on and on but as has been said, this year's team isn't your normal SC team from the past 10-15 years. Also, people seem to forget that Coach Hicks was a heck of a basketball coach long before he came to SC. Before he had these "advantages" he was a good one.
