I think after the loss to JC, BMR will have the Tigers ready. Pikeville can be streaky and tough to beat of they get it going from the outside. I just don't see Paintsville dropping this one, Tigers in a close one.
Lawrence rolls in the second match up.

Pikeville and Paintsville be a great game. Which team shows up? I think both are capable of winning.
Lawrence vs Allen Central should be a easy win for LC but you can't take any team lightly. You got to stay humble and hungry and coach Cook has his team believing that. Got to come out and play like you have been every game.

I say Lawrence county beats Allen Central by about 12 and as far as the pikeville/paintsville game I am really not to sure on this one, its going to be a good game.

Allen Central lost to Prestonsburg by 20+, Lawrence beat Prestonsburg 20 +... Shouldn't be much of a game but anyone can beat anyone. Hope Dawgs come out strong

I'm gonna say it will be a Lawrence County vs Pikeville match-up in the finals!

Lawrence wins easily, Paintsville wins a squeaker.
Both Pikeville and Paintsville pose problems for LC, but LC can play with and beat anyone in the 15th

Three Class A schools & one 3A school in semi's.
Will take the winner of the P-ville game to win it all!

Lawrence easily.
Pikeville/Paintsville should be a very good game, but would not be surprised if either won by 10+. Should be a lot of intensity and if one team is hitting and the other is not, one could get a nice margin.
Pikeville is riding a 6 game winning streak versus Paintsville and the BMR led Tigers will look to defeat the Panthers for the first time since the last time BMR faced Pikeville on February 21st, 2008 in Paintsville.
Paintsville, who is much more well-coached this season, IMO, will bring out defensive and offensive intensity like the Panthers have not seen all season. If Pikeville can whether the storm early, I like their chances. But if Paintsville can get a 6-8 point lead early, it could get dangerous fro Pikeville.
Here is to a great game, HAIL PIKEVILLE!

Pikeville who I would say is the best team in the 15th at this point should win this one by +15.

You realize that LCHS enrollment is down under 600 students now. It's like they are some huge school. I know the official numbers will say more than 600, but that includes all the students on homebound, and trust me I've been told there are a LOT of homebound/alternative students this year. So, they are under 600.

Now it is approaching half of the schools in the state. I think the people miss the tradition of a bunch of class A schools competing when there were many more class A schools, before the mass consolidations that have occurred. JMO.

This entire "no class system" is a joke. How many other states have this? I will bet you that less than 5 states have a no class system. There shouldn't be an All-A during the season, because they should have a 4 class system in basketball (girls and boys), baseball, and softball. Why won't Kentucky move towards this and make progress?

KY just does not have enough schools to warrant a huge number of classes. If there was a 6-class system in baseball, you would essentially be competing against 31 other schools for a STATE title. Sounds really exciting.
And the class system is working so beautifully in football. God knows what the KHSAA would do to kill the other sports.

Do you have any idea what the Sweet 16 means to the KHSAA.

Nothing like it! It is my favorite week of the year!
I am already upset about the Championship going to Sunday, not sure I could handle classes lol.

Sorry that I disagree. There is nothing beautiful about a system that denies good teams a shot. Fact is that large schools have the advantage. They have larger numbers. You are OK with a small school winning it every 20 years? Sorry, that doesn't excite me. And for a person like yourself who seems to really like baseball, how can this no class system be exciting for that sport? Teams in Louisville/Lexington will always have the upper hand. They can churn out 3 guys who would all be 15th Region #1's. But a 15th Region team, or 14th Region, goes in to the state tournament and may not have a legit #1 pitcher, and if they do (ex. Shepherd from LC; Hamilton at Pikeville) they may win a game or two, but no chance at winning 4 games now.
Trust me, other states have fun with a class system too. And there are other states that border Kentucky that have way fewer schools (ex. West Virginia) and have a 3-class system. It works, it's fun, it's exciting too.

I am of the opinion that a state champion is the best team in the state. Yeah, bigger schools have an advantage. It just does not bother me. I appreciate the tradition behind it and it makes it that much sweeter when you do have success. And I do realize I am in the minority.
Maybe it is because I am from the 15th and a school that has competed well with the larger schools historically speaking. Maybe if Pikeville was in the 11th I would feel differently. LCA does pretty well for themselves, however. I just don't want to whine about it. I have always been the type to say "here is how it is, now go find a way to win". It does not "deny them a shot". Maybe it denies making it easy to win a state title. At least this system provides you with a decent number of varying champions and an occasional small school run. There was nothing like the feeling of Pikeville vs. Butler in the Final Four, 6A vs 1A, Louisville vs. Pikeville, David vs. Goliath. It is just something you would lose with classes. I didn't hear one fan after the game talk about, "well we would be state champions with classes". It was, "Man if we could have gotten a hit here, or a call there." How fun is football when before the season starts I could tell you that 1 of 3 teams in that class will win the State Title? Like I said, I know I am in the minority, but I just like what we have and would be opposed to a change.
Definitely respect other views, just disagree.
