Perry County Central 46 - Clay County 43

McDaniel scored 13 last night. I thought he played a lot better against Perry Central.

He was their leading scorer until Lyttle hit a few shots in garbage time.

He did play better against Perry...
but he still contributed at a high level against a team that was better.

McDaniel had his worst game of the year against Perry. Mainly a bad shooting night. But you could tell his mind wasn't there along with the rest of the team. He played a solid game against Perry, just didn't have a ton of help. To say Perry made him look better than what he is would be an incorrect statement. Spurlock had a great gameplan taking his outside shot out of play.

Let's see here...many open shots missed, packed in 2-3 zone, both teams struggling to score (final tally), several players had their worst game, shooters couldn't shoot and the negative list goes on and on, yet many of you on here are touting what a "great game" it was. The bloated price of admission was even a bargain to some of you guys.

Oh! And according to several of you guys the coaches couldn't even coach.

What did I miss?

You missed effort, hustle, emotion, a heck of a dunk by Johnson, McDaniel an Beverly going at in in the 2nd half and a game that came down to the wire. Awesome atmosphere, yea it'd been nice to see the scores in the 60s and 70s but thats neither coach's style really.

Sorry for the typo, McDaniel had his worst game against Harlan, not Perry.

Now we have some positives. I knew there must have been something.

Skinnypig: Both teams tried to keep the score low intentionally. Perry tried to let their role players make shots but they just couldn't connect. McDaniel and Johnson had big 2nd halfs along with Beverly in the 3rd quarter. The atmosphere the last three minutes was awesome for high school basketball.

Nothing negative toward McDaniel, but didn't Thursday's game at least show Brewer is in the "same league?"

Brewer outplayed him. I'm not sure of Brewers stats but he played a solid game, just not a great scorer and a weak shooter. Great athlete and one of the best in 13th. Like I said earlier McDaniel had his worst game of the year. Really impressed by Caldwell from HC. Old school
center that plays tough, he was
there MVP. Completely controlled the paint with his work ethic and fundamentals.

Missed that one Dawg!
