Final
01-05-2013, 10:20 PM
Cordia was up 9 at the half.
These last two games were supposed to be convincing victories for JBS of Hindman
but it's better to be shaky right now than in February.
How did Short look?
and as always...
any news on Cordias transfers?

^Cordias trasnfers look to be eligible by the All A. Judge requested another 15 like in johnsons case. Tagaloa led with 20pts for the lions tongiht and Warren records another double-double with 14pts & 11rbs. Lions are learning every game how to play as a team and the box-1 against Justice was on point again. Ajene Chisolm(freshman) is a VERY strong defensive player and ripped the ball from both Justice and Short 2 or 3 times a piece tonight. Proud of the lions tonight for staying tough and with all players eligible they are looking to be a force, but only time will tell if they will be allowed to play or not. Neace will suit up for the lions Monday against Wolfe.

Cordia was up by 9 at the half? Way to go!
Impressive showing sounds like..
Good job Lions, keep your head up and keep moving forward.
Congrats Pats you still remain at the top.

Neace will help them. If they get the others eligible could be very interesting. Peace be among us. Brother Cecil.

What A Game!
Cordia lead for 3/4 of the ball game. Had momentum, players shooting blistering hot. Impressive defensive showing by the Lions.
Cameron Justice if I had to guess just 2 or 3 field goals made. Majority of points came from the line.
The lions settled for to many jumpers in the 2nd half, should have went to the basket more. The most important part of the game was the first 5 minutes. Knott came out, hit Cordia in the mouth and Cordia didn't respond with a shot back, didn't step up the intensity like Knott did.
Loved the intensity of the gym, great atmosphere as I expected it to be. Keep ya heads up Cordia, played a great game and looking forward to the future.

Is it me or does it sound like some sort of all star team is attempted to be assembled at Cordia? They have Matt Neace now? Wow..

Looks like the lions are for real. The Pats are not looking so dominant as of late. If Cordia gets all their players eligible 14th region look out.

Zaga Short's knee looked fine tonight however, like we have discussed before he is not really a floor general that you look for in a PG.
Cordia came out hot and got the tempo where they needed they had a Knott Co. team who lacks a true ball handler having to make quick decisions with 3 bigs on the floor. I would like to know how many of the 35 Cordia put up in the first half were TO's turned into points. One of my big complaints of the first half is Cordia took the lead about midway through the 2nd and were on a 5-0 run and forced a turnover when Rhodes took a time out. Granted they rebounded from the mistake and pushed the lead to 9 going into the half could have been 11 if they dont lose a man on the block with 5 seconds to go in the second.
Second half completely different ball game. Cordia allowed Knott to slow down the tempo they overloaded one side and went to the big man in side who tore it up for Knott easily had 12 points in the 3rd alone. Took way to many bad shots as mentioned above from outside. Point total for Cordia in the second half 13 and that is the ball game.

Thats a 20 point turn around from the half to the end of the game. Looks like Knott adjusted well to cordia's defense...

And getting no love. Btw, this is the 2nd game I've gotten to see this season, but Evan Hall has really matured hasn't he? He was deadly tonight. I saw about 3-4 moves out of him this season he never used in 8th and 9th grade.

Christon and Cornett were in foul trouble again...becoming a trend

As I said literally all they did was overloaded the right side of the floor of the box and chase on justice. Warren and to come out to the wing which slid Tagaloa down on Hall. 80% of their scoring in the 3rd came off of that. Rhodes did not adjust at all.

Sounds like Rhodes got outcoached. Knott' s coaching has got a lot better with the addition of Raymond Justice on the bench beside of B B. Two heads are better than one. Raymond coached for a long time at several different schools. Peace be among us. Brother Cecil.

I do believe they doubled Hall, chased Justice so Cornett hit some midrange and then Hall had his way anytime he got down low.

Totally out coached, Rhodes gets WAY too emotional and just doesn't understand 14th region basketball IMO.

Cornett hit I think 2 or 3 midrange jumpers in the 3rd one was a dagger that extended the lead to 5.

Hall is a very talented player, but he is very unselfish and he never shows his full potential. I would love to see him become alittle more selfish, it would help Knott tremendously.
Your right stl foul trouble is very common for the bigs, alot senseless fouls on there part. We cant forget these are just soph. they still have alot to learn.

I take it this is a nice way of saying BB isnt much of a coach?

I think BB is one of the best making adjustments at halftime

Congrats to both teams on a hard fought battle. i thought this one would be close because the Jungle is a tough place to play especially for a cross county rival. This was the biggest home game of the year for Cordia and they were up for it and Knott Co just proved to be too much for Cordia in the end.
01-06-2013, 11:08 AM
Knott and Cordia will both be there at tourney time
01-06-2013, 07:31 PM
Hope Cordia gets their people eligible

Did jaylyn williams get any playing time

If cordia would have kept pushing the tempo and not slowed the ball down cordia would have probably beat knott

And if KCC would've played Tagaloa closer at the top of the arc and not allow 3-4 first half threes then KCC could of won by a lot more.
...don't matter, there's two sides to it except that Cordia came up short.

If Cordia had of scored one more point than Knott they probably would have won...
