As of now everyone other than Johnson Central, Belfry, and Pike Central is in it and I believe the last could play in it if they wanted but the Admin. will not let them

Last year was our first year in it. Our enrollment is wayyyy down from what it used to be, which is why we are eligible to be in it. I'm glad we can participate in it now as I feel that it helps teams prepare for the real regional tournament.

I do agree that it should be for single A schools. But look at it like this... How many 3a schools and below win state championships in basketball? I mean sure it happens sometimes, but not very often really. It's typically the 4a-6a schools.

The tournament is set up for the smallest 125 or so schools in the state. Therefore there are probably several 3a teams in the tournament.

How did they determine who gets the by to play in the first round. Prestonsburg, Paintsville, as well as Allen Central do not have to play in the initial round of the tourney.

At one time Belfry was able to play but The Super. and Admin thought it would look bad for a school playing in and winning "AAA" football playing "down" in the All "A" tournament.


I wish more school had that outlook, really do.


Should be 64 smallest teams in state and if someone doesn't or cannot play you take the team next up.

Gonna say the championship game is in the first round, SCHS vs. SVHS. I predict SCHS wins it, and the tourney. Final 4 of SCHS, Allen Central, Pikeville and Betsy Layne.

If SV was healthy and had Belter they would be the favorite, now it is a toss up between winner of SC/SV and BL/Pikeville.

I think Newsome will find a way to exploit all of Pikeville's problems. One true scorer, subpar defense, and a headcase PF.

The above post by region is totally untrue. When AC played Piarist the score at halftime was 42-5. I was there. Not a single starter played one minute of the second half. We shouldn't get a bad wrap because we didn't try to beat them 100 points. This is AC's rebuilding year with only one senior. AC has played a total of 2 games with all of their players healthy. In the last 3 games we have had 6 players out. Handshoe is the only player still out I think. If you want to get on here and dog us fine but at least be truthful about it. I agree we are not a very good team now and may lose in the All A but I could see this team doing alot better if the boys could get healthy and we could actually put our whole team on the floor. GOOD LUCK REBELS AND KEEP PLAYING HARD!
