Improvements to BGR
#1
Anyone have any brilliant ideas to improve BGR?? It's pretty good the way it is, I must admit; however, I would LOVE to see a built in "spell checker".

AND I would love to see a "bear" icon that we could insert in our messages. (wonder why??)

^I would add a grammar check also.
Some of these posts are so hard to read with the poor spelling and grammar.

If you have Google Chrome, it has spell check for everything.

^
Also, Firefox does as well.
If you all use one of those, it will be like using Microsoft Word everytime you get on BGR.
The little red lines will appear.

Gut needs to build cool stuff with all the tools he has and talk about it in the bgr good news thread...Wink

I would like to see a notification when someone posts in a recent thread that you posted in. That way you won't go searching all the threads you posted in.

You should have the option to follow a thread, which does this.

When you are posting a comment, click the "Advanced" button. Scroll down until you see the "Thead Subcription" radio button. When you click that button, you are given choices on how to follow that thread.

Let me or Gut know if you need any help. It's obvolious Spud can't be of any use to you......:yikes:

Feel free to delete any thread that I initiate that is offensive to you or considered frivolous.

I was just trying to stimulate conversation; as you have woefully dropped that subject as of late.

The Thread Subscription on this site has never worked for me, you may want to test this function.

We had been working on a new alert system when following a thread and had Wildcatk23 and Spud6 test it out. It required putting an electronic vibration in your pants and each time someone would post a new comment, you would get a slight vibration to notify you that there is a new message. But we wound up having to scrap the idea. The equipment was damaged too often every time the thing went off, these two guys just ruined the devise!

Here's Wildcat...

My, how that test failed.

It was funny watching you pull the trigger on it over and over again though...

That's the wonderful thing about this site. I've been here since February of 09 and I still continue to learn things! And still have the ambition to get my post count to all the possible stars you can receive and get my green dots maxed out. There is just so much unfinished business here at BGR.

You and Gut are going to HAVE to start taking at least a 10 minute cool down period from your X rated sites before posting here!!

Wait...nope....for you guys two minutes would probably be sufficient.
