Talent level is down but some of these teams should not be getting beat by teams that are beating them.

Johnson Central should not lose to Sheldon Clark this year, especially with SC playing 5 players.

Pikeville will blow up.

Pike Central is young, but I expected way more.

Paintsville will continue improving.

East Ridge will be fine.

Shelby Valley will be better when Belter is back

Lawrence plays hard, they are young though and have little size.

Betsy Layne can beat anyone if shooting well, if not they are very beatable.

Magoffin is a HUGE disappointment so far.

Belfry, who knows until mid Jan.

Phelps is maybe the worst team in the region including Piarist.

P-burg has issues.

South Floyd is bad.

How can you say magoffin is a huge disappointment they have played a killer schedule .First two home games johnson central, then knott county. on the road at powell, pikeville,lawrence, look at some of the other teams schedule see who they have played. I am a not from magoffin, but love high school basketball this team has had atough schedule, somebody not kind to the new coach.

Johnson Central beat them by 2 and 13 last year.

They got blew out by 30+ this year and have lost by 19+ every other game.

Last year whats that got to do with anything ,they havent had a winning season in 13 years , and you are tore up after 5 games. they lost 3 starters johnson central none. Not from magoffin but give it some time young players and a new coach. Magoffin was not worried about winning for 10 years ehy so tore up now. shaldon clark is the team now.

No love for the Pirates? Win by 10 @ Jenkins (believe they actually beat Paintsville) and one of the tougher players in the region with Messer. Think this could shape up as a pretty good year for the Pirates. You haven't heard the name Brett Charles alot, but has 20 ppg through the first 2 and put up similar numbers in the preseason.

I was on sales calls in martin county today and some of the people I talked to were parents of bball players and they said their kids were much happier this year compared to last.

Guarantee it, Frankie has got it done at all levels, no reason that will change at SCHS. I think that it will make for an interesting season ESPECIALLY in the 57th, where JCHS has the most talent, SCHS is the best coached, and Paintsville and Magoffin have some talent and could get W's on any night. Don't know anything about Lawrence, though.

I am partial to paintsville's coaching lol. I must say the 57th tourney is going to be interesting this year.

This is the worst region in the state and maybe this side of the Mississippi. Johnson Cen with a healthy Hall is solid and other than that its horrible. Betsy Layne has a bunch of 20 yr olds that have been held back 3 yrs and they arent any better now than when they were in the 7th grade. Pikeville has no size and only has one scorer. Rowe is a scorer though. Put Knott or Perry with these teams and they beat any team in the region by 20 or more including Johnson Central. Go ahead and start all the hating on my post but im just speaking the truth.

Perry did just beat Central by like 9 but Johnson is still not playing, and I realize Hall didnt play in that game either. You guys talking about Paintsville being good and they lose to Jenkins pretty soundly and Knott beats Jenkins tonight by like 60.

Knott and Perry are both pretty extraordinary teams. The 15th is way down, but I do believe Knott is head and shoulders better than EVERYONE>

Trinity won the state last yr and Id say half their team is not even from Ky. Knott County only has 1 transfer and thats the kid from Wesley who comes off the bench. Justice is from Pike Co but came to Knott his freshman yr.

First, the daniels boys are from paintsville, thier dad retired from military and moved home. They lived there before he went active. Not a recruit. Don't like the Kasongo deal either. BUT, that is taking care of its self. Daniels boys at Paintsville. Well that one was already explained to you.

Not ONE kid on the Paintsville team was asked to come to Paintsville. Also this years Senior class has already had 100% of its students excepted to college. They also rank #1 in the state for the % of students who attend college after graduation. :1:
