With the way the officiating is this year I believe whoever has the best bench will win because a few starters will have to sit. With that said Im going with Ashland by 6

Everybody talking about Ashland defense, am not sold on it. Yeah they get a lot of turnovers but that accounts toward lower skilled competition. They struggle to sit down and guard letting others beat them off the dribble and get into the lane which has lead to foul trouble. When they face a team that has really skilled guards they'll be in trouble, East has better guards than they have face yet, so it might be closer than people think. They also struggle defending ball screens letting others turn the corner and penetrate. They also struggle defending in the post getting in foul trouble Kenser, Justice caused them problems, I know they did a good job on Anderson but not early they made an adjust with Robinson helping backside and Anderson doesn't move very well. However I got Ashland winning by 6.

I can agree with you some on the defense but with the way the game is officiated now I honestly don't think it matters because if a player drives to the basket you basically have to stay out of the way because any touch will be a foul. I believe both coaches will see this and you will see lots of going to basket. The big question is that we should all be guessing is how many fouls will be called, 50,60,70?

Anderson had 8, Justice had 4, Kinser had 8.

Seems to me like Ashland did a pretty good job defensively on these centers if this is all they scored. Also, I know in the Boyd game that Wheeler only scored 12 and Fraley had 5 (Fraley's all in the 4th quarter ) according to the Daily Independent. Looks to me that up to this point Ashland's defense looks pretty solid. I agree that East's guards will be tough for Ashland to handle (but would be for any team) and Stumbo can be a problem in the middle, but we shall see..... Should be a good game!

Ashland defense looked pretty good tonight. East Carter scores only 16 in first half. Only one East player gets double figures in game. I believe Stumbo (center) only had about 5 points. Only criticism I have of Ashland in this game is that they got a little sloppy in second half both offensively and defensively after building a 20 point lead. Possibly understandable due to margin at halftime, but Ashland needs to learn from this and not leave the door open for future opponents.

BTW, I might need to stop betting against Ashland...but that doesn't mean I have to root for them!
