UK Expressing Interest in Somersets' Williams and Slaughter
#1
The two had been recruited by the former administration, but the interest cooled during the waning days of Jokers administration. The current staff contacted a member of the Somerset coaching staff today asking to set up a visit after the new year. Regardless of whether these guys are SEC caliber I know that they will make a college very happy with their work ethic, football IQ, motor, and athleticism. Hope for the best for these two young men.
#2
Would like to see them in blue and white. Good luck to them where ever they go!
#3
Great to hear!! They are both a shinning example of hard work and talent.
#4
I think any instate School would be pleased to have both or either on Roster. They both have a great future ahead of them. May the choose wisely when they make a choice. I do think they would look good in Blue and White.

If Tevin was 6'3" or taller he would be getting love from everyone. He is a freak at 6'0" 235, strongest kid on the team (700lb+ squat) and one of the faster ones as well. Best motor I have seen in a HS Player in years. Find a spot and put him in it and he will excel.

Best of Luck to Tevin and Tyson!

People are liking him at fullback his build is great for that and already sec ready if he were to go that route. We all know how hard he works in the weight room, tevin could easily play at 250-260 ( he started his jr year at close to 260). Tyson is a raw talent and will be a great addition to any college roster, and size is definitely not an issue with him. Hope all goes well with these two.

Love it. I would be thrilled to see these boys make it to the college level. Those who have have watched them know they have earned it!!
#8
I hope that the Cats focus more on in-state talent than they have in past seasons.

Who are you guys talking about? 24 and 34? Neither one of those two can play div 1 football. Too slow, sorry. Not to mention, not good enough.
#10
75 is the only one off that team that might get offered a scholarship. Good ball player.
#11
Go spew your hate somewhere else please, you have not made a positive post in your short history on this site. As for Tevin and Tyson, I think I'll let division 1 coaches decide whether or not they can play division 1 football.

Yeah colleges hate those kids that bench over 400, squat 700, run 4.7 40's at 6'0 240 as an incoming freshman. Those kids are everywhere and easy to find. Like I said I don't know if tevin (34) or Tyson (24) can play D1 but those stats on Tevin are no exaggeration, and both of those kids are tough hard working kids. Lets try to be positive about high school kids with asperations of playing at the next level, and check your NKY arrogance at the door. Like was mentioned in the original post, I don't know if they can play at this level, but they have plenty of options and UK is interested and may be one.
#13
Congrats to both kids! They definitely deserve this kind of recognition.
#14
we need to get all the good instate kids. period.

Lol, jeez I needed a good laugh. Lets see, I played college and pro ball, not to mention I coached college football for a few years, so I think I know div 1 talent if I see it. 4.7 forty, that must be a western ky stop watch lol. Like I said, u wanna tell me 75 is getting looked at, I'll buy that. FYI, benching 400 pounds doesn't make u a good football player.

Good thing Somerset is in south central ky not western ky, and if you coached college football and are getting on here and berating kids you have a problem. Furthermore I doubt you coached college ball. Those stats are all legit, and I'd love to have u down and time him yourself. Kid had 4 tackles, 1 sack, and 2-3 big hits today at the best of the bluegrass all star game, he can play.

Both kids squat 700 pounds?

No. Tevin does. Tyson came to the Shs program late, but could have been very strong in the weight room. Tevin holds the all time record at Somerset by 5 lbs (his brother trey had it previously).

Neither are worthy of a scholarship. Probably perferred walkons. I'D take Slaughter over Williams any day of the week.
#20
A lot of people get their rocks off dissing kids on this site and others. Yes NCC beat Somerset by a touchdown (I know you think was really 42-6 and we think we were one play from winning...we disagree on what could a, would a, should a been), yes they were the best team on the field that night.

Why you ( NKYfootballfan91) insist on highjacking or disparaging Somerset on any and all threads since the game is beyond me.

Is there something personal against Somerset? If so what is it? You say that you have played college and pro ball and then coached later on...really??? You post like a 16 year old kid. Or like an adult that has a huge inferiority complex, probably due to having to listen to other NKY fans bash your team all year. You can't bash their team after all can you, what did they do just win 22nd title. I can't help it if the Wides talked trash about NCC all year.

If you are truly an adult and have the background that you say that you have...then act like it. Enjoy your team, support them, root for them and respect your opponents. No way anyone that has been the leader of young men would act like you do. My guess is that you really are a 16yo kid. If so grow up.

As far as Tyson and Tevin go, both have intangibles in their favor and against them. In the perfect situation I think both could be productive at any level, due to the motor they both play with.

Good Luck to both!!!

Pretty impressive for a high school kid.
To be honest, im not sure thats even safe.

Both should excel in college. I got the chance to see them both play and there just as good as any weve seen this year.

Back to the original post, nobody is claiming that these guys are blue chip studs. They're very good football players who were shown interest by the states flagship school. Both guys could play at this level, and have the chance to be a contributor at some point during their career, but likely they go to a smaller school and stand out in my opinion.

Doubt if u want about my expertise. Truth is, any high school football player in this country can play college ball if they want. I'm saying your stats that your quoting are BS, neither one of those kids would break a 5 flat. I saw Kramer (Campbell county QB a few years back) look like a D1 QB in an all star game, truth is, he's the or was the 5th string QB at Thomas more.

I'll tell you why. I feel I need to educate you people in regards to high school football. You talk about posting like a 16 year old, you are the one name calling. Sorry if I have an unbiased opinion about the kids on your football team. I've clearly said, I honestly believe #75 is the best player on that football team. Sorry if I'm busting anyone's bubble by giving an honest and educated opinion on those other two kids. Just because you get a letter from a school, doesn't mean they are interested. I got letters from every school in this country my senior year, got one scholarship offer. So don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. I've also said in other posts that I thought somerset as well as Caldwell were both more talented than NCC. Somerset was poorly coached and had too many punks, Caldwell wasn't ready.....they should not get touched next season (Caldwell).

Tevin has had every obstacle thrown at him in life that a kid could have at his age. The fact that someone would get on here and put him down like that is disgusting.

Who cares where they go, as long as they go. It would be a HELL of an accomplishment.

Go jumpers.

The coaching staff doesn't allow them to squat more than 700 when they are around. He still does it though whenever they are not around. I've seen the 700+ lb squat personally (he had four spotters) and the 400 lb bench. The kid is a freak, he squats 500 as easily as most people squat the bar. Haven't seen him run the 40 in person though.

Can you enlighten us as to how a staff who's won 4 straight regions is a poor coaching staff? Your kids were no angels either, and to be honest I don't want to play football with choir boys.

Ive seen him squat on Youtube....well Ive seen him half squat 700 lbs....not even close to a full squat.

And furthermore it wasn't a form college letter... Regardless, there's no winning with you. Hide behind the Internet and tell everyone how bad Somerset is and what a great player/coach you were. And to add to that #75 is a good one as well and he's a junior, one of the top lineman in the country believe it or not.
