I know throughout the state many people are wishing it was still April. Many are throwing an absolute fit about this team, but one thing I'd like to remind people. The 2010-2011 team was terrible, Jorts sucked, and Liggins wasn't a leader or a defender at all. That team lost every SEC game on the road until they picked one up in Knoxville. In March Kentucky was the team to beat around the Nation. If it wasn't for that bastard Kemba Walker no offense but they could have won it all. I see the same kind of thing that happen then that is happening now. Moral of the story is stick with them and ride out the rough patches or be on the bandwagon in March. Once this team finds out who they are and how to play together it'll spell trouble.

What are people concerned about?? That we are going to go back to mediocrity?? We are having a bad year so far. And as long as we make the second round of the tourney I will be happy. Cause this team still don't know what teamwork is. I expect down seasons. They will come and go. This might be a down season but it could work itself out. I'm not worried and I still love coach cal.
I'm in love with Tawnya.. hehe..

Kentucky will be fine.
To be fair, the teams they have lost to are better than advertised.
They played Duke close and the Bluedevils are a very good team.
They just need to figure out a few things.

Not sure how I feel about the team......I do think that with their level of talent they should always be ranked in the Top 25. To have dropped off that list is a concern to me but I am sure they will get back on track by March.
OK, when I first saw the thread, my first reaction was
[Image: http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9G...o4Zl9mZXr_]
But OK, I'll play along. First off my concern level after 7 games is
[Image: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zqw__XaTPRk/UH...0/Zero.jpg]
Come March, I expect that Harrow will be settled in at PG, just like every PG that has preceeded him at UK over the last four years has. I expect that Poythress will be as good (don't shoot me for saying this) or better than MKG! I expect that Goodwin will be the GO-TO Guy and the true leader of this young squad. I expect that Nerlens Noel will be playing with Receivers Gloves to help his hands - OK, not really, but I expect that he will be better around the basket. I expect that there will e too much size and athletecism to be out-rebounded in March.
If none of these things happen, then I'LL BE CONCERNED!!!!

Sounds like they have a hell of a coach.

Absolutely not concerned. People quickly forget that four and five years ago, 4-3 was a decent start for Kentucky. We hadn't lost a home game since March of 2009. The streak wasn't going to last forever, folks.

I dont have any concern.
Im not like most UK fans. I can be satisfied with what we did last year still to this point.
Considering Wiggins is prolly coming to UK, I expect next years team, along with the guys that will stay off this years team we be one of the best teams ever.
By far the best recruiting class ever if Wiggines does come.
Personally, I would like to see Poythress and Goodwin stay. Mix them with the 6 kids coming in and 40-0 might be the result.
However, considering this is a down year and we are still at the top of the SEC IMO, as well as playing Duke to the last minute, means were a pretty damn good program, and yes, UK is the best program.

Concern level: minimal.
Not likely that there will be a repeat of 2010-11, but stranger things have happened. It certainly doesn't look as if there are any potential world beaters in this year's field.

No worries here. The team is young, can't expect all young players to play like the previous teams and be ranked top 1-15 year around. this team has all season to learn from Calipari, to get better, to grow as basketball players and teammates. Things should start clicking at some point, in Cal I trust. lol

I'm not worried, at all. When we start losing to conference teams we shouldn't, then I would worry. But it's not even the middle of Dec yet, counting this team out already like I've seen so many people do is just crazy...

-10 because we are freshman that are getting used to sharing the ball and playing with one another(s) different style of play. Anddd we haven't found a leader yet.

Zero concern. Early season still with a brand new team. People are trying to question the talent of some of these kids. The talent is there whether some people think it or not. They just have no leadership yet. They will be fine come march

This team will prob make the NCAA tourney, mainly because the SEC is so weak and only has one team (Florida) in the top 25. These Cats will make the dance IMO as a 6,7 or 8 seed and go down in the first round! This bunch clearly has athleticism and size, but it takes a whole lot more than that to be a solid basketball team!

Zero. There is more important things to worry about than how a basketball team performs.

Dont believe cat fans should have anything to worry about. Sure this team isnt as talented as last years but they do have alot of talent to work with. This team is missing that leader like MKG last season or Darius from last season. Sure Davis was the most talented player but I feel MKG and MIller were the leaders. Brandon Knight the year before. I feel that this team will find that leader January or Febuary. This team could make an elite 8 run by March in my opinion. Cal has very very little talented experience to work with this year. Thats the cause of the struggles, Miller, Lamb, Or Jones to work with all these Freshmen.

Zero concerns, its early in december, and they are still learning to play together. I think another month or two and they will start figuring out who they are and how to play together as one. I have alot of confidence that Cal will have them ready come march. someone posted that they will go down in the first round and sorry to that person but no way..
12-08-2012, 06:15 PM
Not worried at all. Especially after today's game. Showed strong signs of improvement and will only keep getting better over the month of December. Going to be another special season

The Cats did finally start to begin to look like a respectable team in the Portland game and I do believe they will get much better. They do however have a long way to go and I still believe they could go down in the first round of the big dance..
