1A. Beechwood,Mayfield or Hazard
2A Newport,Cath,Caldwell,Co or Owensboro,Cath
3A Central,Belfry or Bell,Co
4A Highlands,Covington,Cath or Boyle,
5A Bowling,Green,Warren,Cent or Harlan,Cent
6A Trinity. No need to put anyone else on here all the rest is playing for seconf place.
What im saying is their will be no parity in any classes. I take these teams and you can have the rest. Its time for the KHSAA to realignment 2013. Everyone have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I would add Wayne Co to the 3a

As much as this pains me in 1a Williamsburg will be there. Raceland was solid and returns alot I think Pikeville will be there as well. I see 4 different 1a schools capable of going to BG from the East next year. I will throw Russelville and Holy Cross in as being more competitive in the West. So i do think at least in 1a it will be a little bit more open. Going to be interesting to watch Mayfield without Jackson and Beechwood without Nussbaum next year. Think Mayfield will be airing it out more and using Jordan Tylers speed on the corners more.

Everyone wants to pencil in Trinity but they do lose all 11 starters on defense and their big three offensive stars (QB/RB/WR). It will be interesting to see if they have the players to replace all that talent.

Starters only start the game, that does not mean the are the only players to play. Trinity used more players than probably any team in the state. Watching them play this year it was obvious that they subbed in EVERY situation. This is not a team like a 2A school that when you graduate your QB, you are in trouble. This team had depth that played in the biggest games that they played. In many instances, the 3rd down players were not the 1st down players.
Again, you can throw out the window that they graduate starters, because their back-ups are just as good as the starters.

Bowling Green graduated 18 starters last year and won again this year. They platoon and may play 40 different players in any given game. That's how Trinity, Highlands and a few others keep winning.

I don't think trinity is a lock. They struggled in the playoffs and weren't the juggernaut people thought. Both X and Scott County should of beat them.

St. X will be better, and with the new coaching staff they will start to get some of they kids that would have went to Trinity
12-02-2012, 03:16 PM
ballboy, PLEASE we are not Harlan Central....WE ARE HARLAN COUNTY...now, we lost a lot of key kids but I think we could be just as good next year as this year. It will be all about if some kids step up or not

What kind of realignment are you wanting?
People make it seem as if there was realingment that that would change the powerhouse teams for some reason. You can realign all you want and the good teams will still be good no matter what. So I don't understand your comment.

1A Mayfield...won 2 of last 3 but Hazard proved last year that they can be beat.
2A NCC...top of the pile but close semi-state and finals show others are capable
3A Central...5 teams played them to within 6 points in the playoffs this year
4A Highlands...Lock no real discussion of challenger is possible
5A Bowling Green...Hook and Lateral away from not making finals...can be challenged
6A Trinity...Scott Co and X both had a chance to knock them off this year
Even though the same great programs that seem to always win, won again this year there is an opportunity for others to step up. But to quote a great man, "To be the man you gotta beat the man" and these 6 are "The Man" until others knock them off.
All classes except 1A and 4A could have had a different champion this year with just one or two plays going another way. Champions find a way to win those games...others gotta step up and take it from them.

Hazard got an assist last year with an injuried Mayfield team. Hazard won it fair but a healthy Mayfield team would have been hard to beat.

You have a different team win evey now and then but its the same ones each year. raceland Williamsburg not in the picture. Hazard in a couple of years will be the beast from the east and Belfry. The only thing with Belfry is I would play a little harder schedule, I know their some teams on their you have to play but play harlan,Co. highlands ect it will only make you better.

1a Mayfield, Russellville or Beechwood
2a most definately Caldwell Co, there will be a big drop off between them and the next team
3a Central, Paducah Tilghman or Belfry
4a Highlands
5a Bowling Green, Warren Central or John Hardin
6a Trinity of St X

Simon Kenton returns alot of starters they will be ready to contend. They lose 4 starters on offense and 3 on defense.

Madison Southern will be very, very, very good next year... I see them playing deep into the playoffs...

Williamsbug is a want to be you don;t play no one and if you didnt beat Hazard this past year your not going to beat them your not in the picture, Pikeville will be better and Hazard will reload. Until you guys can win the big game your not even talked about no were else. Play Whitley,Knox, Bell and beat them then you may have something to talk about until then your yellowjackets are weak.

Are these schools any different from the old 4 classes?
Caldwell is relatively new after a 14 year hiatus. 3A you left out Paducah Tilghman, even though they had an early exit this year, they'll be in the mix...as will Ft. Campbell. In 2A, Danville and Glasgow, along with Bardstown and DeSales. In 5A, Christian County is another. In 4A you left out LexCath as well.
So, with the teams you listed along with the teams I added, how are the names in this group any different from the teams who were in the mix during 4 classes?

NewCath has major holes to fill. Brady Thacker was a 3 year starter who was the heart and soul of their team. When he finally got healthy in mid season after missing most of last year and parts of the beginning of this one, you can see the trajectory of the team skyrocketed. Cain grew by leaps and bounds as a QB. Elliot Rust was one of the best Olinemen around, and Hayes set school TD records.

In 2A, Somerset will be Very Good. They have 15 starters back, all Skill people return except TE.

Collins will be back in the 4A finals...Lock!!!!!
