Coach: Scott Ruthsatz (17-14 in one year)
Last year: 17-14 (District runner-up, regional first-round loser to Newport Central Catholic)
Whatâs new: Familiarity with the offense in second-year coachâs new system.
Key players: Junior guard Nick Ruthsatz, senior center Zach Tobler, senior guard Nick Fredrick
Outlook: Always in the hunt, the Colonelsâ solid inside-outside game involving the creative Ruthsatz and shooting guard Nick Fredrick, combined with improving big man Zach Tobler (12.2 ppg, 6.0 rpg), makes them a defensive challenge. Thereâs also forward Sawyer Pauly (7.2 ppg) and freshman Bo Schuh, a long, athletic newcomer. Free throw shooting â the Colonels led the state at 75.5 percent â and guard play are team strengths, and everybody is a year wiser in the new system. âKnowing our offensive system should improve our scoring ability,â coach Ruthsatz said.
