Didn't go but Russell's best player and maybe the top player in the 16th region, Skaggs, did not play.

Why?

Knott played very well. Defense is where KCC has improved the most. Justice and Hall had around 20 each.Knott dominated the boards, with Simon Christian and Chance Cornett both in double figure boards. Camron Justice scored at will, also had a bunch of assists, including an over the shoulder pass to Evan Hall for a monster dunk. Knott's starters played less than a half. Cory Short ran the point effectively after being sidelined for a year and a half with a knee injury. Super sub Blake Shrum came off the bench and was 7-7 from the field and made his only freethrow.Skaggs did not play because of an eye injury. Knott plays Bullitt East next Saturday at Sheldon Clark.

Don't think he makes a 43 point difference. And if the starters played less than a half....yikes!

I think if Corey Short stays healthy he will contribute highly to the Patriot offense. He had a couple nice takes to the basket and fakes, dribbles through the defense, and can pass well.

I never said it makes that much of a difference but it does make a big difference for this team. The offense runs through him.
Knott Central is one of the top teams in the state. Congratulations to them.
I would imagine in a scrimmage situation both teams worked in different line ups to see who could step up. Obviously KCC had some big steps.

One question I had about this Russell team is toughness. Especially inside. Just judging from the outcome I would continue to question that toughness.
