What ever happened to the Kid from Milliard who was attacked at Shelby Valley?
#1
I was thinking thsi was the biggest news to ever come out of the 15th, Dick Vitale talked about it on ESPN,
So what ever happen to the Kids envolved?
#2
He's currently on the Pikeville College roster. He's actually played in a few games I've watched....
#3
That great to hear.
I know that we all joke around but this was by far the worst blackmark nationally that ever hit Ky prep basketball.
I wish the kid all the luck in the world
#4
I was talking about this the other night asking had anyone heard anything about the kid, glad to hear he is doing good.
#5
Did they ever punish those who were guilty?
#6
He wasn't injured as bad as the national media portrayed it to be saying he'd never be able to function normally again...He made the Pikeville College team maybe the next year and is still on the team...

Yes people were punished on both sides....It was a shame that Shelby Valley was portrayed so negativly about this when both sides had equal play in the matter...The Millard basketball players were looked at as being so innocent when in reality they were ready and eager to fight it out with people from Shelby Valley pretty much for no reason...

Jarrod is now playing for Pikeville College he is playing baseball as well as Basketball...He pitches for the baseball team...And saying he wasn't hurt as much as what was said is false did you see his hand after the fight probley not it was bad...It was a sad sad matter for not just the 15th region not just for EKY basketball but for the whole state of Kentucky...

I'm not accusing anyone of this, but most hand injuries from fights come from hitting another person.

So, what did happen to his hand and how was it injured (details are fuzzy, but I remember the incident)?
#9
Had a cousin in the slugfest. Typical fight over a girl and teenage adrenalin. The bad part was the media made it look one sided when in reality all parties were to blame for not using better judgement....my idiot cousin included.:Hammer3:

He has someone pinned to the ground ready to knock them out...He went for the knockout punch, the person moved and Jarrod punched the concrete...And that's the story of Jarrod's poor hand....

Alfus, I was there and seen the fight first hand, (not involved, just watching). Are you sure you seen the fight and didnt see the bat??? When exactly did you get out there to see it?

I'm sorry for jumping in here, when I actually have no opinion on what happened that night....but I can hear the slowness (and sarcasm) of your words BBfan....like a Mom talking to her busted teenager. "Alfus, are you sure??"

BTW~Do you guys think this may be where the Valley and East Ridge rivalry actually began?? Even before ERHS was opened?

Notice the conversation...
"But was he jumped?"
"Nobody was jumped...Everyone involved voluteered to fight."

Notice he didnt say how many was outside that fought. He makes it sound like it was a 1 on 1 fight....

He supposed to have tried to punch someone, they moved and he punched concrete. I dont understand how punching concrete would have give you road rash looking stuff on the palms of your hand. It seems like it would have been on the knuckles....

Yes I watched the fight..I was there during most of the time..A bat was gotten out towards the end but never used...I'm not going to say it was a clean fight because it wasn't...Brass knuckles were used in this fight and steel toe boots were prety popular in this fight as well...

I don't mean to make it sound like a 1-1 fight because it wasn't...Millard had anywhere between 10-12 people involved and Valley had anywhere between 7-8 involved...
