Espn is reporting that petrino dad says he wants the job but UK released a statement saying he wasn't a candidate.

It will take someone with balls to give a guy like Petrino some consideration for a big time coaching job, Mitch is probably not equipped right for that job? Petrino has some baggage, but he's never been guilty of any ncaa violations and never been convicted of any kind crime. As a matter of fact, the worst thing he has actually done is have an affair with a beautiful young lady and use his influence to help her get a job! I agree that was morally very wrong, but everything else in his career is very arguable to whether or not there was anything wrong with the moves he made? I believe he deserves and will get another chance with a BIG TIME program and he will be succesful, I also believe he is sincerely remorseful and is determined to do everyhting the right way if given another chance! Let anyone out there that is without sin cast the first stone at Mr Petrino!

I'd honestly rather have Dykes than Petrino. I dont see anyone would really want him, yeah he may get us back to winning for a year or two than ditch us for a better job. He's done it everytime. Why take 5 steps foward if at end your going to have to take 10 steps back?

Bobby Petrino has proven himself a winner at 2 other schools that have trouble winning, (Louisville and Arkansas) He is probably the best chance Ky will ever have to get a coach that has proven he knows how to build a winner at a mid to low tier SEC football school. If we do not jump on this chance to hire this guy we may never get a coach of his calibur at KY!

If we looked hard enough at every coach then we would find faults with all of them. To call Petrino a criminal scumbag is going way overboard, yes he has faults, but one thing is proven he WINS. So it comes down to this, in two years do we want to be right back in the same situation we are in now or do we want to be winning games??? I believe everyone deserves a second chance, and i think he would do good things for the wildcats...My prediction---Petrino goes to another SEC school, and lays the smackdown on a still crappy kentucky team with their new coach cause Mitch didnt have the nads to hire him......
