No trash talk here. I have alot of respect for Russells program. I think this will be a little more low key than in years past, with both teams trying to remain and get back to healthy before the playoffs. I do, however, think Raceland has too many weapons offensively and the run defense will force Russell to throw some. Thats where it will be won or lost. Does Raceland pull of 5 ints again? I dont think so, but I do see Raceland winning. I will have to give a score later in the week.

Rams by 3 TD's or more. They are better up front and have more skill players, but being a rivalry it will be tight for a half.

Raceland should win this game. Russell has a chance only if they play with emotion all 4 quarters but I haven't seen that fire yet. I could be wrong but I don't think it will be a crushing blowout. I can't see TJ running the score up against McGlone in a varsity game.

Correct, TJ wont run the score up, i think Raceland will pull away towards the end of the 3rd quarter, and will start getting the jv some reps offensively if they have a comfortable enough lead. On the other hand, i do believe The Evils offense is too good for the jv defense at this point, so the RAMS starters will see almost a full game defensively. Ill go ahead and give my score prediction...

By this being the last game between these two schools. The emotions will be sky high on and off the field. I love my Rams. But respect the devils. This game will be close all the way. Because this is the last game between these two. These kids will fight till the last whistle blows.

Doubt you have to worry about a blowout. It will be very competitive!

This game always gets people talking, Raceland has been on top for the past few years... and this will be the last time these two teams play in while, and why should McGlone want to play raceland??? raceland gets all his good players anyways haha Confused

This thread could get ugly with Russell's decision to not continue playing. I am still waiting for Ivan to unleash lance Evans. Guess it just isn't gonna happen.

Since I haven't seen Russell play this year, I don't know who I'd favor. But Raceland will always get fired up and bring their "A" game when Russell's on the opposite sideline. GO RAMS !!

IMO Russell has only lost 2 good good players to Raceland and some decent ones to boot. I am friends with some of their parents and I wish them much success. I do believe that their is an underlying reason why the two are not playing after this year. I don't think it has to do with losing. For one thing Russell's future the next few years is very promising. Why stop the series now when we have some great teams up? Everyone I have talked to wants to keep the series alive. It's a no brainer!! Good gate...less travel time...etc I personally am waiting to see who Russell picks up in their place before I throw my hands up in disgust. Lol

1 more thing I find funny. Correct me if I'm wrong but Raceland hasn't won a state football title but the track team has. To reward coach Helton you take his track away. I know ya had to fix the corners but found it comical.

Same as ours! The next four years are suppose to be the best sense Denton and Carver days. That could be why. Our eight grade hasn't lost in two years. Our frosh. Class had a great year. And the JV I believe has beat up on everyone. We lose only eight seniors this year. Our qb, best backs and most of the line will return.
Russell picked up Pikeville. Only a two hour drive!! Thought that's why the devils wanted to go to a different class. For less travel!

Most our better Sophmores play up. Our freshman beat Raceland and are undefeated and I guarentee our JV would lose to Raceland next year as well because many of these freshman will be playing too much Varsity. I'm sure Racelands freshman will have their hands full next year never having played our 8th graders. I do agree about Pikeville. That sucks but you have to agree that Ironton would bet you more ready for teams like Fairview and LCA than Russell would.

Sadly, LCA moved up a class, to 2A, a couple seasons ago. Thus, opening the door for Fairview and Raceland to make runs that they have yet to accomplish. Looking forward to a great atmosphere on Friday night. We know how long the last drop of this game lasted, I'm sure neither team wants to be on the losing side when the rivalry starts back up again in 30 years. Then FINALLY it's playoff time.
